Nailbomb72
Hey Tinker, I really liked Mass Effect 2, not a more heavy RPG like the first one (which I also think is ace). It's More of a action/story driven RPG with less focus on tonnes of gear. Highly recommended for something different, gameplay is pretty fun and it's a great looking game. Parts of the story are a bit meh, but a lot of the smaller quests are very cool. Buy it now
BS PALADIN
I agree. The main story isn't great compared with the first game, but the side quests are fantastic. Definately one of the best games of last year.
WytchDokta
Yep, ME2 is great, BUT it does have the 'enemy AI focus on shooting primarily at the player' thing. Legion FTW! (Have him as a companion along with Tali then enter the Migrant fleet = fun times) Edited May 6, 2011 by WytchDokta

WytchDokta
bought it, wow 12GB, big game, eh. Rendering all that Asari booty does that to a game. Hopefully they'll put DS2 up on sale soon too. That's most definitely a purchase. On a side note, I hear that in ME3, Engineers will be able to build turrets. I hope this ability does not replace their current special ability, which is to deploy a combat drone. I like my little drone.
Tinker
Past the intro section, looks real good so far. Probably get to play this some more over weekend. Question: Need to set up my character now, states I cannot change this once set up. So which is best for a basic run through the game? Soldier seems to have most kits. But I like the look of the Sentinal so far. However being an engineer can employ drones! Choices... Bah, no way to save until character is chosen, k I`ll have to task manager it and start again soon, np.
WytchDokta
Soldier has access to more weapons, and at the certain point in the game where you can choose a weapon specialisation from another class for your character, the Soldier can has access to a choice of one of three unqiue weapons, the Sentinel or Vanguard and the Infiltartor I think have access to only one unique weapion, but can instead choose a specialisation (so Engineers, Adepts, Sentinels etc could choose assault rifle specialisation, Soldier instead can choose unique assault rifle) The drone is okay, don't do hardly any damage but it stuns enemies and can thus knock them out of cover. Only 3 secs cooldown (upgraded) on the ability too, so you can spam the drone. It's useful to send out the drone randomly anyway, because if it moves once deploys, it means there are additional (hidden) enemies nearby, and it will go after them. Infiltrators can deal massive damage with sniper rifles. Oh, and choose your speech options/answers in game wisely. There's a Paragon/Renegade (good/bad) speech/answer options system in game. Essentially, choose good or bad and stick to it - you will not be able to complete a certain companion's personal quest if you don't have high enough Paragon/Renegade (her personal mission involves no combat, but requiires some very careful thinking)
Tinker
Thnx WD, think I`ll run with the sentinel. The speach choices, lol. I thought that was a way to determine if I wanted a swear filter.
WytchDokta
Good tip is to balance your squad evenly, so they can deal with all types of enemies. For example, for a Soldier, the best teammates would be Engineers and Adepts (biotics). All situations and enemy types covered. For Sentinel, I guess you'll always want a Soldier in your team so they can deal with enemies at medium and long range (you can negate this at the weapon specialisation point in the game if you go for assault rifle specialisation instead of going for the unique shotgun). Generally, Engineer teamates can break enemy shileds and take control of synthentic enemies, biotic team mates can break barriers and shields, and are still good against unshielded enemies. You get the idea.
