Earl 0
Thought this might be useful to others: how the hell do u weld????????? and on ur camo gun, the sopmod sd, how did u get that camo pattern, love it!!!!!!!!!!! Weld. Apply an edit mesh modified, select vertices. In the rollout for vertices, you'll see a section called Weld with two buttons. One is called "selected" and works on proximity. If you select any vertices, and then click that button, any vertices within the distance specified will be welded to each other. The other option is Target weld, that means you turn Target on with the button, then choose a vertex with the move tool and drag it over a different vertex, then they will be welded together. Camo paint. In photoshop create a new layer over the regular texture. Choose an apprpriate brown colour and a fairly fat paintbrush with a very low Flow setting and paint away. Keep in mind that the real application method is spray paint or cloth applied, so give it that look and build it up slowly. After, you can use a low flow eraser to cut knicks and wear patterns into the paint job. Edited May 28, 2003 by Earl
JTF-2 0
thanks for the tip about the camo paint. I tried to do something similar but was using a totally different way. It didn't turn out as good as yours. Thanks, your help is invaluable PS, how long have you been at this mod thing anyway?

Incubus 0
Another useful way to paint the camo is with the "airbrush" tool instead of the "pen". Make sure you have the type set to 'normal' rather than dissolve. This is a good way to slowly build up the colors, which keeps the different camo colors from over-saturating the image. When you paint the camo, make sure to do the painting on a separate layer. This way, you can adjust the transparancy of the camo layer. If it looks saturated at 100%, then drop the trans down to 75%, etc. Play with it until you get your desired result.
