oh another thing, i am crap with computers, i leave the computer side of things to Lil but when it says "2 CPUS" ~ 3.1GHZ does it mean both cores are running that speed or do the two core speeds add up to that?

If Windows XP - don't touch the 64 bit version with a barge pole. stick with 32bit XP

If Windows 7 (or Vista) then definitely go for the 64bit version (and then stick as much extra RAM as you can reasonably afford in it (at least 4 Gb), not everything will make use of it, but the stuff that does it will make make a difference)

that means both(all) cores are running that speed

yeah i was hoping to buy a few new sticks of RAM but i'll wait until lilly is at home and with me, i dont do anything inside the PC until she is around even though she has told me numerous times to just buy it and put it in, dont wait for her.

as for the XP/ 7 thing i understand that the 64 bit version of XP is rather unstable and has compatability issues. so i was going to put 7 on tonight, but it looks like i'll have to do it tomorrow or thursday, installing an operating system is something i can do without lil but it's too late and the computer has to be shut off around 9 o clock due to cooling issues.
