EricW
hi, i have a problem with my PC and it requires a fresh install of windows XP. but what i want to know about is the effects of the "delete partition" button if you get me will i still have a 160gb hard drive or will the number be reduced? or is there a way of deleting the hard drive so i can just install it willy nilly. i cant download programs because the error is due to changing the motherboard and processor. in wich case it bluescreens me on bootup of windows. i am using zeealice's computer (no i didnt rob her, shes my wife and shes in hospital)
Rocky
Say you have a 320 Gb HD, which is 2 partitions of 160Gb each. If you delete one partition, then you would have a single HD with 320Gb. So it doesn't delete/remove any space.
EricW
cool so it does just delete the content then.
MeanMF
Have you tried running a repair installation? That will fix most problems related to hardware upgrades and driver incompatibility. http://pcsupport.about.com/od/operatingsystems/ss/instxprepair1.htm
