Cpl Ledanek
So we finally replaced our dying tube TV with a Samsung-LN32C450 (wife still not satisfied its a good tv) so I was thinking of adding an Asus Eeepc to it so she can watch her Youtubes without having to go to our desktop. I need a couple suggestions: --- will the Asus Eee Box do as promised? I saw one @ Fry's for $199. --- need a All-in-One Remote for the Samsung and for our DirectTV something basic. --- need a wireless keyboard. I like the Logitech Bluetooth DiNovo but ###### is expensive...need something small with trackpad so I can forgo the mouse. advance thanks
krise madsen
No idea what the Eee can and cannot do, but as far as small notebooks go, the ASUS is way ahead of the compeition (what my actually-knows-about-computers-friend tells me). Those Asus (ROG) Republic of Gamers have specs often better than avg gaming machine. Now I'm looking at Acer Revo nettop PC. Just have to research more on what is needed, like Win7 Pro vs Home Ed. firefly2442
I have an Asus eeePC 1000 (w/SSD) laptop and I use it to watch hulu and youtube vids. It can't handle the HD content though. However, newer versions of their laptops have Nvidia ION technology which might allow for HD playback. I don't know anything about their desktops. Cpl Ledanek
I tried my Asus 1000HE last night....with power brick and without power brick ....not working I tried the XP Clone and the Dual Monitor (in netbook / monitor & monitor/ netbook) configuration and it wasn't working. Hopefully I raise my AGP desktop system from the basement and try that setup...if not, I might have to get my back brace and carry my Stacker 830 up a flight of stairs into the bedroom.
