Hi all , I have resentlly come across a problem were i no longer remain logged into web sites, for years i have been logged in to GRnet, only having to log on if i have cleared all my cookies, I do the same with a few other site im regestered on. But over the last few weeks i have had to log on every time i visit even though the box is ticked to keep me logged in. On one web site i can log in to the main page ok , but then if i go to the forum page or gallery page etc im logged out again ?

I have done a full disc clean and a defrag. I have done a regestry scan and also done a security scan with Est.

I have also done a system restore, but the problem persists. The only other thing im seeing that does not look right is when i click on the IE icon i get the message saying that IE8 closed unexpectadly and do i want to restore my last session or just go to my home page ? As far as i can tell when i quite IE8 it closes normally ?

Am i looking at full re-install or am i missing something ?

Windows 7 Pro, Intel i7

Thanks

Seems its more W7 related than settings, just checked my Admin Tools/ Event panel and found 260 errors in the last 7 days all the same !!

"Failed extract of third-party root list from auto update cab at: <http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/authrootstl.cab> with error: A required certificate is not within its validity period when verifying against the current system clock or the timestamp in the signed file."

Dont know what that means but i got a feeling its got something to do with my problem. When you go to the on-line help you get this

"

.Results for: Microsoft Product: Windows Operating System; Version: 6.1.7600.16385; Event ID: 4107; Event Source: Microsoft-Windows-CAPI2;

No results were found for your query. Please see Search Help for suggestions."

:unsure:

I'm not sure what's causing that error, but I don't think it would lead to the problems you're seeing. The "third-party root list" has to do with SSL certificates that are used for https browsing and a few other things. It sounds like it's having trouble updating the list. The issue with web sites is that your cookies aren't being saved after you're logged in.

EDIT: Actually there is one thing I can think of that could be causing both problems.. Is your system date & time set correctly?
