Nothing fancy, but it could help figure things out more to create similar units with different visuals. Tools: - Diesel Exporter for 3DS Max 9 - FX Shaders for 3DS Max to preview landscape shading - Particle Editor (unsure if you can use this with editor visualization, but it can be used to edit the XML files stand alone) Example Files: * These files are included to show examples of how setups are done, because of that only the lowest LOD step is included. * All files are for 3DS Max 9 or higher. - Character: One piece (US Marine) - Character: With separate body (Ghost Body, Mitchell Head) - Prop: With cover points and nav points (Stonewall Fence) - Prop: With lighting (Lamp Pole City) - Prop: With destruction (Wood Fence) - Prop: With advanced destruction (Allhauler Van) - Prop: Stationary weapon location (M2HB Bunker) - Vegetation: Standard tree (Palm) - Vegetation: Bush with cover (Coverbush) - Vehicle: AI tank without characters (Abrams Enemy) - Vehicle: Transport helicopter for player and/or AI (Blackhawk) - Vehicle: Car for enemy AI (Panhard) - Vehcile: Car for player and/or AI (Pickup Merc No Doors) I have no credit in creating these. Biro Posted June 8, 2012 Share Posted June 8, 2012 Tried to get the 3dsmax plugin to work with max 9, but I get an error when the oil to diesel tool kicks in @3dsmax. Spik@ Posted May 25, 2013 Share Posted May 25, 2013 Biro, Got your hands on 3dsmax8 of course, but I was wondering if you ever got the exporter for 3dsmax9 to work. I have 3dsmax8 too and for all props, so far, it has been sufficient. I needed 3dsmax9 to check out the design tool files that Wolfsong gave us and started working on some new ideas, but the exporter -indeed- does not work. It keeps giving me errors. Also saving/exporting files from 3dsmax9 and opening them in 3dsmax8 does not work. I know there is a way around this by exporting the files as .Obj and opening them in 3dsmax8, but this will not export all 'items' from the models. Anyone?
