I thought I heard him say vehicles will be non-drivable although the ghosts will be able to interact with them.

He would not detail how they will interact with them.

Yeh, that's what I heard but he wouldn't be drawn on exactly how the Ghosts will "interact" with the vehicles apart from saying it's TBA.

So it seems they are carrying the same theme over from GRAW2, we still can't drive any vehicles in the game.

Considering how today's SOF units have MRAP's, M-ATV's and Rangers in some cases have even been assigned Strykers, you would think that driving/manning a vehicle in GRFS should go beyond what GRAW 2 offered.

I`m completely against driving / manning vehicles in GR. We don`t need another BF or Arma. The biggest maps I think so far are in Graw1, and you can run across them in a few minutes. Ability to be dropped off at insert, picked up at extract is good as it is. Enemy get to roll around in them sure.

Considering it has been stated we should be playing on relatively small maps, just not going to be feesable.

I understand that you want GR to be what GR is and not be similar to BF, however if a game is meant to give us an immersive feel for what SOF units have access to realistically, why then limit it to just being on foot.

Take for example the deep raids that SF units performed in northern Iraq when the US Army's 4th ID was blocked from coming in from Turkey. SF units had a C-17 deliver an M1 and they formed a mini combined arms assault force. Isn't Ubi doing the right thing then if they are adding the manning of vehicles to the game? I would think so as it better recreates actual battlefield assets.

No longer are SOF units employed separately, they are more and more frequently being used in conjunction with conventional forces. Former Sec. of Defense Rumsfeld said that no longer would SOF be supporting the main effort, but at times would be leading it (ie heading a task force that composed of SOF and conventional units.)

"Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld directed SOCOM take the lead in planning and leading future U.S. counter-terror operations, rather than merely supporting other combatant commands, as it has in the past" http://www.allbusiness.com/public-administration/national-security-international/750020-1.html

  • 2 weeks later...

just changeing the subject (as i do) has anyone else noticed that on the news pic the ghost on the poster seems to have an asset from splinter cell i forgot what its called but i definately saw fisher with one of those on his shoulder.

about the vehicles:

i think it will be fun in online play but these ghosts have an op on their feet not in a tank or van they are meant to use their brains and guns not tanks and drones but thats just my opinion.
