Ghost Recon: Future Soldier creative director Olivier Dauba has said the up-and-coming title will feature some "surprising locations"

The last two instalments to the franchise, GRAW and GRAW 2 were set in dusty Mexican regions. But Dauba told Eurogamer.de that "variation in design of the campaign was the most important" aspect, with some levels being set in "more open urban areas"

To finish though, the Ubisoft Paris man stated that we will see some "surprising locations" which will be revealed in the near future.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will release later this year for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, DS and finally PC. A multiplayer beta will launch this Summer, which will be available to those who have purchased Splinter Cell: Conviction.

I heard some discussion somewhere...Twitter maybe, or perhaps one of the press releases...that the aircraft carrier is going to be a playable level? Not sure if that is true or not. Ubisoft has mentioned that instead of cutscenes, players will get to play out the connecting story lines...for example...we know you get to play the Russian President's bodyguard, also as a power plant or refinery engineer and also as a citizen during the invasion of your homeland...something along those lines. Perhaps you'll get to play as a sailor on the carrier? The map in the trailer and one of Ubi Kimi's hints indicated that there might be some action in the Netherlands...which is also a unique place that I don't think has been visited before.

Who knows for sure though...

I think its the moon or mars .. its the future after all :)

Maybe under tunnels to the core of the earth?

Now these will definitely surprise people :)

If it ends up to be on American soil ... start to worry :P . Mind you a large battle though London would be good. I guess that Crisis 2 has that covered (not the london part).

From gamesradar...

"Kozak's Cross Com will no longer relate titbits of story info; instead, Ubisoft Paris wants Future Soldier to convey the 'humanity of war'. To that end, you'll see the story unfold through the eyes of its various protagonists. Examples cited included a Kremlin-based mission as a Russian Presidential bodyguard attempting to foil his abduction, or as a brave civilian defending his hometown from invasion. Lacey and Dauba assured us these won't just be inconsequential titbits, but fully fleshed-out levels – if not quite as long as the Ghost scenarios".

Eurogamer...

"For the most part, you play the leader of the Ghosts, a commando squad sent to upset the ultra-nationalists' invadey plans. He's called Captain Edward Kachenko (nickname: Kozak), and he's an American soldier with Russian roots, so he has some personal investment in the brutal coup d'etat. You will, however, spend some time seeing the game through the eyes of incidental characters, such as a non-ultra-nationalist Russian engineer defending his invaded land against neo-terrorists with mere buckshot, and the bodyguard of the soon-to-be-overthrown Russian president. This is, of course, nothing at all like Modern Warfare's switching perspectives and set-piece scenes of terrorism aftermath".

dont be fooled - just bcoz UBI wants to show you the battle through the eyes of others doesnt mean they will do it well...they wont.

seriously, this is coming from dickheads who produce a video preview showing the invisibility cloak that allows you to walk within 3 meters of enemy and even make loud footsteps as you walk past the foe and still not be detected.

these idiots cannot and should not be taken seriously - they will release another pos game.
