JohnTC02
The first DLC will be available on Thursday April 15th, and every following Thursday. If you are liking Splinter Cell: Conviction on the Xbox 360 then Ubisoft has just announced something that may make you like it even more. Free weekly downloadable content is coming to the game every week starting this week with the MP7A1 machine pistol. http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-28759-Atlanta-Video-Game-News-Examiner~y2010m4d14-Ubisoft-announces-free-weekly-DLC-for-Splinter-Cell-Conviction#
firefly2442
It's kinda funny releasing this so soon after the game comes out. Psychologically, you feel like you're getting something for free and that it's a great deal but they could have just included that with the game too. Deadpreacher
I agree so soon! Anyways i think if they do do this they should fellow what BFBC2 is doing with the VIP codes and given stuff away for free for everyone that got the game brand new. People that buy it used or rent have to get it at a price. They need to awared people more for buying it new and not everyone else!
WhiteKnight77
My sentiments exactly. Gamers are complaining of games being to short or lacking in features or other other stuff including weapons, yet, publishers are giving away content within days after it's release. Why not just put it in the game to begin with for the price they are charging? Of course, gamers are buying into the whole DLC boat and games featuring less on release gig that publishers are pushing on ill-informed gamers. =warcloud=
It's not downloadable content per se, it's Unlockables. Downloadable content will be the insurgency pack.
MeanMF
Gamers are complaining of games being to short or lacking in features or other other stuff including weapons, yet, publishers are giving away content within days after it's release. Why not just put it in the game to begin with for the price they are charging? They do it so you will keep the game longer. They want to keep people from renting and returning the game or selling it back to Gamestop after a week. If then can drag out the release of what's on the disc over a month, then it means that there will be fewer used copies on the market. =warcloud=
By the looks of things this is going to be the norm in the future for most console game companys, not sure about pc?. When you rent a game you will only have access to single player content and i wonder how much you will be able to play of the sp content?. To play multiplayer you will have to pay a one off fee to compete in online play;and the same goes for pre-owned games. So this begs the question ...how much will a pre-owned game sell for?, will it be worth selling?, so maybe you will see less pre-owned games and a more constant steady stream of dlc?.
