ReconSnake 0
I redid a M14 model and added a trijicon ta55 to it - and it looked right in the renders/3dsm screens. When I exported it, a texture that covers the scope mount came up missing. I know the texture is in my mod file with the rest of them, so I have no idea how this happened. Can anyone shed some light? Here are a couple of the shots of the new model: RS
Argyll 1
Did you attach the part to the rest of the model? This happens to me during chr making sometimes, usually when I think I've assigned the textures only to see one or two missing! Also collapsing the texture also may work
ReconSnake 0
I grouped all the parts together - if that is what you mean by attach - I am still a rookie at 3dsm so I don't know the absolute meaning for all the terminology. If you mean is it physically touching the other parts, I am 99% sure it is, but I am not positive. I will retry it today though to see if that is the problem. I don't texture my weapons off one pic like a lot of people do, I use seperate textures ( ). Can you tell me if I can still collapse the textures ( and by the way, how does one do that)? Thanks! JTF-2 0
not real sure about this, but i think to get all the bits of your texture into one file you need to UVW unwrap it. I'm sure i saw a tut on this somewhere. I think it was on one of the sites that an ex-GR dev did. It wasn't Piggyson, it was a new site. DOH! now i can't remember the name. check the GR news page, scroll down a bit. The site was a news blurb IIRC
Marcinko 1
Did u merge the scope, and is it a different texture?
ReconSnake 0
yes on both counts RS
Ruin 17
Dont merger or collapse. Attaching is best. If you get stuck there, you can follow the same steps in my CHR tute for that part.
SnowFella 8
If u merge in new parts to an excisting make sure the texture maps are named differently. They usually get named 1-Default, 2-Default...and so on...just give them distinct names....Thats atleast the problem I had with some of my ares shrike models (use up to 4 different textures for some of them)...merged in parts with the same texture map names...still looked ok in 3dsm but the parts ended up with the wrong texture after export.... Hope this helps & u can sort the problem out...that M14 looks sweet!!! LOVE the cammo on it Snow Edited May 26, 2003 by SnowFella
