the customizer 0
I recently got a new computer and so I logically bought all the Ghost Recons. Well, something was wrong with my computer so I had to uninstall Ghost Recon. I had everything successfully installed, but I had my brother uninstall them for me. He must have used the Desert Seige CD to uninstall, and then he proceeded to delete the leftover files in the Red Storm Entertainment folder. Well, when I got back and tried to re-install them, everything installed perfectly until I got to the Island Thunder CD. The window popped up and said, Uninstall, Play... and so on. I can't get it to install. It thinks that it is already installed. I have tried everything, even clicking the uninstall button and then reinstalling all over again. The same problem pops up every time. I don't know what to do. I really need some help.
WhiteKnight77 1
Go to the Add/Remove programs applet in the Control Panel and unisntall GR that way. Delete the remaining folder from C:. Follow the directions on the How to Uninstall Ghost Recon page, then reinstall in order.
the customizer 0
I tried that too. It still says on the Island Thunder CD, Uninstall, Play.....so on. I really am racked for ideas.
Specter 0
Follow these steps, then re-install. All should be good. While installing Ghost Recon, the installer crashed. Now, I cannot uninstall the game or reinstall the game. What can I do? Answer If you are having a problem removing Ghost Recon so you can reinstall it, try this and see if it helps: From the Start Menu, click Run and type in "regedit" (without the quotes) then left click "OK". Following the next set of instructions requires you to left-click the "+" sign to the right of the proceeding directories to expand them: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Red Storm Entertainment (right-click on the folder Ghost Recon, left-click "delete" and accept the removal message) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> Windows -> Current Version -> App Paths (right-click on the folder GhostRecon.exe, left-click "delete" and accept the removal message) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> Windows -> CurrentVersion -> Uninstall (right-click on the folder that starts.. {D89EF3B3-.. }, left-click "delete" and accept the removal message) Close the Registry Editor and reinstall Ghost Recon, then any expansion packs (if applicable). Finally, download the Ghost Recon patch 1.3 and 1.4. Install the 1.3 patch then the 1.4.
