Snake@War
Rocket = PC CoD Community... Hopefully the FourZeroTwo tweet is real and they will include SADS after all....
Snake@War
Update: Infinity Ward Responds To PC Fanboys' Dedicated Server Woes Wow... Calling us fanboys because we want SADS for building communities, and so we can mod the game rules?!? Just ignore the 100,000+ signatures on the petitions started only 3 days ago.... I'm officially ######. But the sad part is that I'm probably still gonna buy MW2. Edit: New from FourZeroTwo: FourZeroTwo's personal explanation... ... Edit for another update: 402 removed the fanboy article from his Twitter updates.... A little too late is all I say.
custard~SPARTA~
I do hope the peeps saying that they will still get MW2 are joking right?
Snake@War
Well I'm on the fence about it to be honest... I am weak. I think the playlists are gonna be the deciding factor with me...
Rocky
New from FourZeroTwo: FourZeroTwo's personal explanation... I want to meet these mythical creatures who have difficulty navigating a server browser. BS.
firefly2442
This is unfortunate but sadly I think it's a growing trend. Gaming is big business and it's in their interest to make it locked down and make sure the revenue base is there. The weird part is, they must think they can make more money offsetting the cost of providing the servers with the supposed increase in sales. The dedicated server community is really providing a huge service to developers because they are providing money, computers, personnel, and bandwidth for 3rd party servers. dporter
LOL, the replies to his blog post are hilarious. The one Rocky posted got a lot of follow up comments as well. I play a lot of console as well, but you can tell a lot of the console people posting don't get it. I could foresee this type of thing happening though awhile back when fourzerotwo posted on his blog when modern warfare first came out about how shocked he was to see so many illegal copies of the game online for the PC. How they can tell which copies are legit and which ones aren't are beyond me.
=warcloud=
"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is actually the biggest investment Infinity Ward has ever made into the PC version of our games. It’s also the most feature-rich PC version we’ve ever made". Cheat / Hack Free Games: The biggest benefit of using IWnet by far is the fact that you don’t have to worry about joining a server full of aim-bots, wallhacks, or cheaters. Or relying on the server admin of the server to constantly be monitoring, banning, and policing it. Modern Warfare 2 on PC allows us to control the quality of the game much more than ever before as well as utilizing the VAC (Valve-Anti-Cheat) system to keep games clean of hackers and cheaters. Sounds good to me.
Snake@War
Yeah... It's just cheeky. No mods, no 24/7 clan/community owned SADSs, no control over who joins the SADS you pay for... Communities that kick over language, ping, exploits, abuse, racism and all that jazz can't say no to these abusers. P2P hosting sucks. Try playing COD4 on a console. I own CoD4 on PS3 and PC so I know from experience that I prefer a master list over matchmaking. While I will admit that the matchmaking is not a terrible idea (sometimes it's nice to just start CoD4 on my PS3 and join a random HC-TDM), there should still be support for dedis. Period. No SADS is no good thing. BTW: VAC isn't a great anti-cheat if you didn't know. At least in my experience.
WytchDokta
2 player Coop. Probably split-screen with reduced draw distance and reduced graphics to keep the framerate down too.

That's crazy because the original game supports much more than that. I really hope they fix this post launch. This is great news. I really needed a compelling reason NOT to buy this game as I am game'd out right at the moment, and they've given me a whole HOST (pun intended) of reasons not to buy it. Face palm doesn't even come close, this is quite bizarre.
Tinker
I`ve watched the campaign played live on the internet, from start to finish twice, thnx to the xbox version. Hammer
I`ve watched the campaign played live on the internet, from start to finish twice, thnx to the xbox version. Personally enjoyed the SP in all versions so far. Absolutely buying it for the SP, but will hold off til the price drops this time. Same here, I have all the other COD titles, played them all in SP and enjoyed them for what they are run'n'gun fun. Never played them on-line, except for Nazi zombies with Tinker and a few others And after spending a few hours watching the live streamed xbox version last week i see no reson not to buy this one aswell when the prices drops

WytchDokta
Oh this is kinda funny. Looks IW lost another customer =P He'd rather the money was spent on BF: BC2? The last version of this game, BC1, was just bit OTT towards the end of the game.... Enemies focusing on player and able to pick player out from the team (not shooting at the AI team members when player is nearby, only shooting at player); AI guy with shotgun using it as a sniper rifle; enemies taking a full mag worth of ammo before they die (from about halfway through the campaign); enemy Russian SF with blatantly faked English accents; etc. So I don't know which is the lesser of the two evils here. Big
Rocky?, so they don't make a port from console to Pc and u don't support them? Moriarte: Ignoring IW.net, is the PC version a direct port of the console version? Mackey-IW: No, PC has custom stuff like mouse control, text chat in game, and graphics settings. As read somewhere, it comes in two DVDs, had to go to the bathroom when someone posted: 1 dvd is for mouse control and graphic settings
migryder
The only serious coop I ever played was testing P2 with the Night Hawks so I'm not too upset bout that but with regards to SP...I've done two levels...been on an urban hummer ride using a minigun that was more intense than the DF:BHD one if that is possible and better yet...winter war!... they give you a chance to set it up so you can skip a level if it offends you...never seen anything like that in my games played...so set that up in case you don't like a level for whatever reason....dx it...wish they had that all along.. mig
WytchDokta
so set that up in case you don't like a level for whatever reason....dx it...wish they had that all along.. mig Yeah, let's just skip every level in the SP campaign in order to get the achievement for completing the campaign, all in under five minutes. Achievementwhoring eat your heart out.
migryder
Well I finished the SP campaign and no I did not skip a level because I was offended or anything nor did I even set that up TBH...I did not like the airport but did take part...the credits are cool, not the old style COD but more of a nice portfolio presentation...lots of stuff happens that we usually don't get in these military shooters...I can move on to Spec Ops now...funny is that not what I've been doing in the campaign?? The specular was odd at times for me on their recommended settings..but very little to complain about in terms of bugs or anything...I had more trouble with FEAR 2 graphics this past week... mig
