ROCO*AFZ*
Well over the weekend our MS Action pack's digital download for Windows 7 became available I'm running Ultimate 64 now. 1st impression... On my pc.. the load took exactly the same amount of time as Vista SP2 does COD4 had the same punk buster issues Vista had. (If anyone has these, message me and i'll tell you what i did to fix them) Logitech g15... driver told me that it wouldn't work. 5 minutes later it self installed. no idea on that one. All my Vista drivers worked for my sidewinder and speedpad. Desktop - Similar to Aero but i keep forgetting i have things open because they all minimize to an icon which has a glass outline, later I figured out to tell i have things open. Bugs me though. Games - Same games as Vista... not even an extra one. Media Center - Seems the same but haven't really tested it yet though. It now handles photo's very poorly. To get Vista's gallery you have to download it seperate. Previous versions aka shadow copies - still the same as vista's Game Play - COD4 - Runs around the same FPS with my GTX275 but seems smoother. Could have been though that my Vista load has been around since Vista came out. Installed COD Waw also and it seemed to play ok Sounds - Game sound seems to have improved a little. Same issues though that vista had. You have to uncheck exclusive rights for mic and speakers or Vent won't work when you are playing. Screen savers - Same as Vista's. Didn't even get one new one lol Desktop Backgrounds. - Some new one's here. Control Panel - Very close to vistas. Classic view is now called large or small icons and isn't eye friendly System Rating - now goes to 7.9 My raptor only got a 5.9 but the rest of the pc was 7.1 and up Magnifier... Changed... now you can magnify the whole screen up to 1600% or a small box. May have to upgrade my parents as this would work better then the bar that vista gives you. Math input panel.... must be for tablet pc. Had a hard time recognizing #'s i drew with the mouse. Defrag - like the % way they did it. UAC - Like Vista's but doesn't ask you if you make changes to windows... only if a program want's too. However if you change something to run as admin, it will ask you everytime. There is an adjustable slider though. Gadget bar - Gone! - Now if you right click on your desktop and left click on gadgets you can add them anywhere... no bar. Same though exact gadgets included that Vista had. I did find these no longer bleed through like vista's use to. So there is an improvement there. What do i think? Clean, Runs a little faster and a little smoother then my 2 year old Vista load (but that may have been the load) Great to be included with a new pc or for building one, but if you have Vista, no real shebang reason to upgrade. if you have any questions, post them here. I can put some screenies up also.

CR6
Fantastic review Roco, thanks for sharing! I really disliked the non-graphics format of defrag in Vista, so you're saying that the graphics are back? BTW, what size of monitor were you using/screen res? Here's an interesting article for those interested in both Windows and Mac: Snow Leopard vs Win7 http://tech.msn.com/products/slideshow.asp...mentid=21457543
ROCO*AFZ*
not graphical but uses a percentage with like 3 stages When you enter it it tells you instantly what % you are fragmented Then when you start it... 1st is analized % Pass1 % defragged. If i remember right there are 3 passes. Past 2 is % relocated Oh and i'm using symantec endpoint (note the yellow shield) which is symantec's latest corporate. The security center said it can't read the status of it because it uses the old method to report status lol. My res is 1650x1080 on a 22" viewsonic. If you want to see any of the other parts in windows 7 ultimate, post it and i'll screen them for you.
