Dark Ranger 0
Just finished installing Windows 2000 Server on my home rig last night, in a multi-boot configuration. Installation went smooth, however I have one problem: I can't find a Windows 2K Server driver that is compatible with my Network Card. The OS installation disk does not include a driver for this particular Network Card, the product Floppy Diskett includes drivers for Win9x-2000PRO, but not server. I checked LinkSys website for updates, as well as MS 2KServer site for updated drivers. No luck. Does anyone know off-hand where I can aquire a driver for Windows 2000 Server? My network card is as follows: LinkSys Model NC100 Version 2.1 Fast Ethernet 10/100 32-Bit PCI Network Card Thanks
Stinger 0
http://www.windowsxp-drivers.com/drivers/60/60023.htm You could give the XP one's a try. I doubt it will work but it couldn't really hurt. I googled all over for some 2K Server ones but no luck
RooK 0
Try the one for 2000Pro, they can't be that different. If it doesn't work, you've lost nothing but gained the knowledge that 2000Pro drivers won't work
Stinger 0
I assumed you had tried the 2K Pro ones, if not then yes listen to RooK's advice first. If neither of those work, 2003 server looks nice.
Dark Ranger 0
Thanks for the replies: @Stinger, Thank you for the link. The XP driver DID NOT work with 2KServer, however, I did another search on that site, and d/led two different drivers, based on some of the reviews. A few people had used that specific driver for 2KServer without issues. So I unzipped it to a floppy, and installed it - works great. Just tested out my connection with Gigex Vietcong SP demo(99MB). 600KB/s or better d/l speed. I now owe you one Stinger! @RooK, Thanks for the suggestion. I actually tried 2KPRO drivers first, and they didn't work with my system. I had trouble ejecting the hardware because of it.
