budgie
This game is da bomb! I get to steal cars, dodge bullets, rough people up and keep on the trail of 20 Gs and an attache case full of missing coke. It's 1986 in Vice City, I got cool threads, a nice car, hot women and my own suite at a beachfront hotel. Even downloaded some Miami Vice tracks from WinMX and stuck them into the game with some retro/gangsta mixes - ever heard Jay-Z's The City is Mine or 2Pac's take on In the air Tonight ? This game will occupy my every waking moment (when not plodding thru Morrowind at a snails pace - BTW thanks, Nighcrawler, I got the bow finally). I recommend everyone go get it - provided you're over 17, heh.
Stinger
Its much better than GTA3 was for pc. This game is much smoother and great to play. The bikes are soooooo cool I did a wheelie for 3 seconds once. provided you're over 17, heh. Or if you have parents over 17 that are corruptable
Velocity
Thats the best thing on the game - The Bikes. You just keep wheeling'em about for 30 seconds and weaving in and out of the traffic, it ace
Copenhagen
It's a really fun game My longest wheelie was over 1000 seconds with a Sanchez (dirt bike).
MarkVanDamme
I can't do wheelies or stoppies very well Just like IRL.
Stinger
Okay I'm sick of only being able to do wheelie's by accident. What are the keys to do them? (PC)

budgie
I just finished the main story and it was great. Just like Scarface (except I won). The whole experience has so much 80's ambience it was great. I own the city and pull in something like 40k a week from my 'businesses'. I have been a drug pusher, car salesman, counterfeiter, hitman, pornographer and blackmailer and loved every bit of it. Still got some missions to do for folks, so 'll go off and get them done. I am the lizard king!!!
Cpl Ledanek
On GTA3, is there a way to categorize the mp3 song you've added to the game? This way you can "actually select" your mp3 song you "actually" want to listen to, instead of starting with the very first mp3 you added to the game everytime you select the mp3 channel on the radio. can you change the chatterbox radio's stations default sound, lets say a real talkradio like Howard Stern or Mancow? Just in case you haven't d/l this skin mod Edited May 26, 2003 by Cpl Ledanek

I am the lizard king!!! A hitman? Which bussiness gets you that? I own the printworks, ice cream factory, car showroom, pole position, the docks thing, film studios and... maybe something else. Must be Malibu, is it? I could buy that place but I'd only have like $20k left so... I'll wait a while. Ledanek, do you have a link to a tutorial on how to add your own MP3s to the game? 'Cause I got plenty songs I'd like to run from the cops to.
Cpl Ledanek
Digging it up as we post....link to various sites most of the links are on the side or bottom of the page...just surf around...eventually you'll come across it, as I have...good luck...I'll post if I beat you to it... UPDATE: Found this thru Gamespot after selecting GTA3 then clicking on the Hints section....hope this helps you out....now I shall continue to find that mp3 manager, so i can skip to the mp3 selection that I want to drive to... It predates the whole GTA franchise let alone GTA3 @Pyro The Malibu club gets you a tough bank job, but payes a lot each week after you complete it as an asset. As for being a hitman I mean I have been asked by various folks to kill people from time to time, not as a full time occupation.
Pyro_Monty
Ah, gotcha Budgie. Yeah, in my stats it says I've completed one out of fifteen assassination contracts. I guess the rest of them'll come about sometime... *twiddles thumbs* To complete the ice cream factory as an asset, do you have to deliver fifty "ice creams" in one go? Jeeze, I don't know if I can even be bothered doing that. Edit - Oh yeah, cheers Ledanek, I'll have a look through that.
firefly2442
For GTA4 they should have it so missions are automatically generated and your actions effect the game world. Like you kill a mob boss, that has an effect on that faction and so on.... I'll have to get Vice City, sounds awesome. Kinda expensive though, still 50 dollars. WytchDokta
I'm stuck on a mission on Vice City. The mission where u have to use the R/C chopper to place 4 demo charges on a building. I know how to do the mission and where to put the demo charges. I just can't do it. Why have they made it so u don't get no money from ramming other peoples cars anymore? No I have to kill poor old pensioners to get money....
budgie
there's no trick - just get better. this mission is extremely hard and I doubt anyone has ever got it the first try. I had to do it 30 plus times and I was a gibbering, psychotic wreck by the end. Including this mission is unforgivable. GTA prides itself on its flexibility but in this mission (and a couple of others, max) you are forced to do it one way only. With the crappy little helicopter and it's hard, I know. Fly around with it and rotor blade the guards to death on all all floors first. Then when you pick u[p the first stick of dynamite the timer starts and I would do the higher floors first. After killing the guards you could even do a practice run with an empty load. Best news is, that's the last mission for the cowboy and as far as I know does not contribute to the overall story. make money and complete your assets to push the story along. In other words, you can skip it and come back after the story has finished. I didn't realize that then. When I finished the game I clicked - acquiring all the assets is the catalyst for the story. There is another where you have to race a guy in the rain and he has a camaro or something and you get some crappy sedan. The race is short, there's no room for errors or time to change cars and no matter what you arrive in, you get stuck with a crappy sedan. You just have to keep playing until he makes a mistake. Now that one is not as hard as the helicopter, but it's an asset mission (malibu club) and worth completing. with that one I can see in hindsight how luck and extremely good driving could help you win on the first try, but it's still unfair to limit the player's options so drastically. I absoulutely hate linear missions! Good luck anyway.
RooK
Budgie, you might be able to try this... I know it worked on the Turismo mission in GTA3, but I don't know how that race with the Camaro is setup. Haven't got GTAVC. With the Turismo race, you could go to the phone booth to start the mission then go get you a tank or some buses. From there you would proceed to block off racers with these vehicles (or the route if you raced it before) and then pull up to race them. You'd get a nice headstart while the guys in the Cheetahs are trying to get through your road blocks.
WytchDokta
The thing is though, I can't even find where to put the explosives on the upper floors. I can only find the one on the ground floor.... Ya don't wanna do it for me do ya? I'll put my saved up on my webspace if ya want. I have got to other missions though (I skipped the R/C chopper mission to go back to it later). PM me about doing this for me if you want to do it for me that is....
Pyro_Monty
Nightmare, I could give it a couple tries for you but I only really got it with a bit of luck on my fourth or fifth try. Put it up on your webspace and I'll see what I can do.
Zantar45
OK I have taken this game apart for the PS2 basicly. there MAY BE slight variations. As we all know they add new stuff to the game when they release it for other consoles/pc's. -[NCM]- .:Nightmare:. Posted on May 26 2003, 12:12 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm stuck on a mission on Vice City. The mission where u have to use the R/C chopper to place 4 demo charges on a building. I know how to do the mission and where to put the demo charges. I just can't do it. Actually there is a trick to that mission. DO NOT PICK UP THE FIRST BOMB! the clock doesnt start till you pick up the bomb, fly into the building and cut up as many workers and gaurds with the heli blades as you can. When you think you got enough pick up the bomb and start placing them. Pyro_Monty Posted on May 26 2003, 10:05 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ah, gotcha Budgie. Yeah, in my stats it says I've completed one out of fifteen assassination contracts. I guess the rest of them'll come about sometime... *twiddles thumbs* Now as you progress through the game, a phone icon or some other icon will appear on your map, go there (a payphone) and you will recieve your "Hit" job. Now on the PS2 one (unless it has been changed for PC) you can't put out the tanks anymore or any road blocks. It has a cutscene before the race type missions and removes all roadblocks. Best way to do it, drive smart and try to stay on the sidewalk, all you really need to do is barely touch the checkpoint with your car to get it. I had a race where he shot up the ramp at the start and fell into the river BOOM simple win. Other times I had to throw caution to the wind and try not to hit anything. Dont forget, if you nudge him into the police- they try and go after him more then you. When you own Sun shine autos and get the checklist- in the races, get a fast car and go as fast as you can and barely tap the other cars and the race automaticly starts and you get a head start.Sometimes you can ram a tank into the cars and destroy them and easily pick up a win. What I did one time, park a car next to them and get a tank- drive as fast as possible and head for the cars, bail at the last second and hop into your parked car. If done right- sometimes the race will start and almost all the cars will be destroyed or on fire.

You'd get a nice headstart while the guys in the Cheetahs are trying to get through your road blocks. The guy doesn't sit and wait for you to start like the tursimo race. It's a scripted mission opening and a short race so no time to mess around. Anyway, I got it in the end (or he messed up by chance). On blocking races you can do that with turismo style races in Vice City and even blow the opposition up with weapons. I tried this in GTA3 and they were indestructible (read forced failure, inflexibility, linear mission structures, baaah!). To this day I have never completed that mission in GTA3
budgie
- .:Nightmare:.,May 27 2003, 14:19 ] Now I'm stuck on the "Publicity Tour" mission.... How does that go again? Oh the seaplane one. It's hard, but learn to fly and you'll be fine. Do the hardest part of the city first (tall buildings) and the docks and airport last. I got it in five goes. As for the RC helicopter, for anyone else with trouble, just fly around and scout the locations, killing guards before you pick up the first bomb. If you know the building before the timer starts, it will be easier (a little).
