What am I doing wrong??

When trying to host, I can create a game from the UBI lobby, take on players, chat with them, etc., but as soon as I launch, they disappear and I'm the only player left. Why??? I've tried everything but I just can't get figure this out. I also notice than when I go back to the GR server to view my hosted game, none of my game information is displayed (ie: type of game, map, mode, time). All that's visable is the ping, version, compatibility and number of allowed players. Can someone please walk me through the hosting process?? All help is appreciated.

I'll try to help. I just got help here myself for the same thing.

One of the local Pro's here will probibly post you a fix but will need to know some things first.

What operating system your running?

Are you connecting to the internet through a router?

Have you hosted before and now it wont work?

If you are playing thru UBI when asked to locate GR the first time you used the UBI software did you choose "Automatic" or "Manual"? Often if people choose Manual they get this problem!! Start again and when offered the option choose Auto !

Also Look in the General settings in the UBI software Options menu and under the General Tab make sure that "Use External IP" is checked too!!

You have to be running the same version as everyone else, if you have patched to v1.4 they also need to be patched to v1.4 too. If you are running v1.3 or something then patch to 1.4 as most people now run 1.4!!

Have you got DS & IT installed too and those joining you haven't, or any other mods installed that are required by others to join you?? If people don't have the same mods as you then it won't alow them to join!!

Also ask people what error msg they get if any when you go to host a game and they don't join you too, if they tell you any possible error msg's then it could help you source the problem !

As above, have you also tried to host a game directly by your IP not using UBI too????

After seeing other people's suggestions, I think mine might be unlikely. I was going to ask you if you had a firewall. Usually they block out multiplayer games in some cases but I think UT has the best advice right now.
