I live in Greece (thessaloniki actually) and though i have tried to create it with the map editor some times i face all sorts of errors.Green/pink weapons no lighting except for a fire and similar stuff.SO, i decided t ask for assistance!!! The area is about 300x300 meters and apart from google maps (for the road plan) i can provide anyone interested with photos of the area. If you have anything more interesting to do nevermind i'll just keep trying... fishmonger Posted February 23, 2009 Share Posted February 23, 2009 GRAW maps cannot have roads at these angles, unless you make a complete custom terrain, which is so much work that so far I have not seen a single map being made based on a new custom 3D landscape. The time it takes to make a map with the existing objects alomost doesn't justify the effort. Custom landscape and custom buildings put this into a whole new level of complexity that makes the effort absurd. Not to mention the cost of the tools to create such objects and the time it takes to create them. compared to that, making a map with some soft of playable scenario is only a fraction of the effort. Rendering problems are pretty much discussed in this forum in detail and if you read, you will find answers. We all did. A map of the size you are talking about should not be a memory problem even at medium qual render. Everything else sounds like you just have to read up on texture_scope.xml and what to do to get rid of the checkerbox textures, black objects or funky colored weapons. here's a deal - upload your project as a zip somewhere and I'll take a look at it - I won't "build it" but I can probably return a file to you that looks like a real world with proper lighting Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
