mexicobob
I have tried everything listed in this thread for the following problem to no avail. Crash in application version: 30899.3048 data\lib\units\types\weapons\bulletweapon.dsf(-1): cant find member: material in type <void> SCRIPT STACK: data\lib\units\types\weapons\bulletweapon.dsf(0) data\lib\units\extensions\inventory.dsf(0) data\lib\units\extensions\inventory.dsf(0) data\lib\managers\instancedescriptionmanager.dsf(0) data\lib\managers\instancedescriptionmanager.dsf(0) data\lib\units\extensions\groupunit.dsf(0) data\lib\units\extensions\groupunit.dsf(0) data\lib\units\extensions\groupunit.dsf(0) Renderer: threaded Physics : threaded I downloaded the unbundled package (both) but it would not extract, saying could not open the archive. I have used Rahnmans mod without problems so I do not know what else to try. I renamed my dirctory where Rahnmans mod is to: "C:\Program Files\UBISOFT\Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 Rahn\Rahnmans_MOD_v2.0.bat" I renamed my directory where Brets pack is to: "C:\Program Files\UBISOFT\Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 Bp\bp_weapons_pack_v2.05.bat" Everything in Rahnmans mod works but Brettzie's does not. Any ideas on this!!!!
Brettzies
Try taking out the ".bat" from the folder name. The bat file is just a way to have the game look at another context file so you can easily run an unmodded game if you want to. The folder should not have the extension. Also, sounds like your download is corrupt if the archive won't open.
mexicobob
The .bat is not in the folder name that is just the shortcut name it runs from the desktop. This is what the actual folder path is: C:\Program Files\UBISOFT\Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 Bp I have the folders named so I can have the different bundles available when I play different servers whithout overloading the custom_levels folder and not having to look for the modules I need for that particular server. Is this maybe a particular problem with Windows 7? The out of box game runs fine as does the Mod from Rahnmans. I will try downloading the bundle version again and see what happens, then I will try the zip file with both versions again. Bob
Brettzies
Hmm. Never tried it on Win7. I don't think it would be an issue if you have other mods working. Here's the ideal dir setup, with bold being folders: Graw2 (or equivalent dir) -context.xml (for normal play) -context_bp_weapons_pack_v2.05.xml -bp_weapons_pack_v2.05.bat -----mods ----------bp_weapons_pack_v2.05.bundle -----Local ----------bp_weapons_pack_v2.05 ---------------multiple folders The .bat file runs the game with the mod context xml. Some people have issues with bundle mods and so there's an uncompressed version that just puts all the files in the local/bp_weapons_pack_v2.05 folder. I'm not exactly sure what this is: C:\Program Files\UBISOFT\Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 Bp Is that a complete copy of the game but with mod files as well? i'm not sure if that will cause problems or not. When the .bat calls Graw2 via a shortcut, you may have to tell it which directory/folder to start in.
mexicobob
That is a complete copy of the game. I copied the complete folder for GRAW2 and just added the mod name at the end so I could keep my missions seperated for the different mods. that different servers were running. I got tired of copying and deleteing missions for the different servers so I just make a complete copy of the game with different missions and mods, I have a 1tb hard drive so space is not a problem. I redownloaded the bundle and took the BP off of the folder name so it is back to normal. I still get the same crash error just after selecting a profile and the game tries to start. I have tried it with SP in the original campains and in the different multiplayer create a server modes as well as on line. I have not tried the OTS bundle yet. Update: I tried the OTS bundle, got the same error after about 20 secs , and Mitchel had no head! Thanks for your help on trying to solve this. |J4F|Gorilla
Perhaps this can help you: My structure folder on win 7 64 bits GRAW2 folder: Image Local folder: Image I use the unbundled version Hope that help
mexicobob
I have the proper folder and file structure. It just will not run. I have not been able to get the unbundled version to properly unzip. So I will just play standard and Rahnmans mods!! Thanks for the info
Brettzies
Did you try re-downloading it? What are you using to unzip it? I use winZip myself. I think powerArchiver works pretty well too. Also, did you try running it the "normal" way and not in a duplicate game dir? The error you are getting usually means it's not seeing all of the mod info more or less. Sorry you can't get it to work, the unbundled version usually fixes these problems for most people. mexicobob
I am using 7-zip to unzip the archives. The OTS bundle worked for a about 1 minute then crashed, before it did Mitchel had no head. I do not want to use the OTS version. I tried three times to download the zip file with both versions for a total of 6 hours download time and none of them would extract. Is there a link to the unbundled version only? Thanks for any help
Brettzies
I just downloaded it from the Moddb link on the first page of this thread and extracted the non-bundled version. It worked fine. Where are you trying to DL it? It was really inconvenient to have the non-bundle in the first place, especially when I was making fixes and changes. Having them both in the same zip was much easier. I know it's a big download, but c'mon, this aint 1998, 56k baud modem days. I'll see about putting it up on FileFront by itself, but that's still ~90megs. The 1 minute crash and no head is definitely the game not reading the mod correctly. The best three solutions I have are listed on the previous pages. Try getting rid of any language folders inside of local, I usually just suggest english, but others may cause problems as well. |J4F|Gorilla
@ mexicobob: If you want play us on Brettzies |J4F| server, we run the first personn mod here In the package, there's just bundle version (don't work for me and |J4F|friends) so, i have unbundled this package to get: 'bp_weapons_pack_v2.05 folder' 1- Just put this on your GRAW 2/local folder 2- Put bp_weapons_pack_v2.05.bat on GRAW2 install directory and create a shorcut on desktop 3- On 'context_bp_weapons_pack_v2.05.xml', make this change like this (red character): <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> <context> <script base="data" exec="Menu/Menu" editor="false" language="bp_weapons_pack_v2.05"/>--><!--change to "english" to uninstall--> <!--<mod_bundle name=bp_weapons_pack_v2.05"/>--><!--delete this line or comment out front with "<!--" to uninstall--><!--not used in 2.0--> @ mexicobob and Brettzies: This unbundled package is avaible on download on our website (just for |J4F|friends we're ten) I give you the |J4F| level to download this @Brettzies: I hope it does not bother you that I share this version with Just 4 Fun friends Edited February 11, 2010 by |J4F|Gorilla
Brettzies
@Brettzies: I hope it does not bother you that I share this version with Just 4 Fun friends Nope. It's fine. I just didn't want to have to manage so many different downloads for essentially the same thing. So many people have problems trying to get .bundles to run that it was just easier to put both types in the same download, instead of always redirecting people to the unbundled version. I like people to at least try the bundle version first because it's the cleanest install, but many still had problems. Bundles would have been awesome if they were supported better. They work fairly well for simple text-edit mods, but for all the regutting I did with sounds and movies, it seemed to be very hit or miss getting it to work on different configs. scope
I installed GRAW2 again today, installed the FPV version but it doesn't seem to be recognised by the game. I extracted it like instructed in the Readme to the GRAW2 main directory but i fire up the game but no mod. Am I missing something obvious here? |J4F|Gorilla
Hi Scope Just one question please: Have you lunch the game with bp_weapons_pack_v2.05.bat shortcut? If no, you must launch game with this to recognized
scope
Yeah I double click that and it runs with the mod enabled but as soon as I try to load anything I CTD. |J4F|Gorilla
Are you using the first person Brettzies mod version? If so, I must first know if Brettzies allows me to share the final version unbundled (the same |J4F|Friends use) Same as mexicobob, this version can resolve your problem
Brettzies
Yeah I double click that and it runs with the mod enabled but as soon as I try to load anything I CTD. crash log : Crash in application version: 30899.3048 data\lib\managers\groupmanager.dsf(-1): No soldier template named "STONE" SCRIPT STACK: data\lib\managers\groupmanager.dsf(0) data\lib\managers\groupmanager.dsf(0) data\lib\script_network\gametype\gametypecampaign.dsf(0) data\lib\script_network\networkmanager.dsf(0) data\lib\setups\setup.dsf(0) data\level\level.dsf(0) Renderer: threaded Physics : threaded Definitely not being read correctly by the game. I edited the first post of this thread with the 3 most common solutions. It's at the bottom of the post. It doesn't really matter to me where you get the non-bundled version from, but it is available on the first post, downloads sections.
