If only it could have been funny....
You probably wouldn't find these funny either :rolleyes: ;

"These days it's good to know we still have friends in the Middle East, friends like Saudi Arabia. That's right where, may I remind you, four of the 19 September 11th hijackers were not from." —Jon Stewart

"Counter-terrorism experts say that Osama bin Laden may be hiding secret messages on pornographic websites. You know what that means, Clinton could find this guy before Bush." —Jay Leno

"Saudi Arabian Prince Abdullah is visiting President Bush at his Texas ranch. After that, like many other Saudis, he'll go enroll at a U.S. flight school." —David Letterman

"Today the 20th hijacker, Zacharisa Moussaui called for the death of America in the courtroom. The INS was so mad that they're threatening to revoke his student visa. Keep it up, and you'll lose your pilot's license, pal." —Jay Leno

"We can't find him, but he's a 6-foot-5 Arab on dialysis. Call me crazy, but look for a guy connected to his luggage." —Robin Williams, on Osama bin Laden

"According to a new report from Afghanistan, the hottest music over there right now is Disco. So, we've achieved a compromise here. We brought them out of the 13th Century, but only took them up to 1978." —Jay Leno

"On Thursday, a senior U.S. official said that the CIA released a formerly-classified document warning that Afghanistan might descend into civil war. Boy, you want to keep that one a secret. I'd hate to shatter people's illusions about the utopian wonderland that is Afghanistan." —Dennis Miller

"French troops arrived in Afghanistan last week, and not a minute too soon. The French are acting as advisers to the Taliban, to teach them how to surrender properly." —Jay Leno

"In Afghanistan this week, outnumbered Northern Alliance rebels on horseback defeated Taliban forces armed with tanks. Experts say the victory is just like the story of David and Goliath and David's friend, the Stealth Bomber." —Tina Fey on Saturday Night Live's "Weekend Update"

As long as it's ok in your book to make fun of Obama in four years, then all is well, DS. I'll show him the respect due his position as President as long as he's in office, but after that, the gloves come off. I have to say though, I don't recall President Bush flubbing his Oath of Office like Obama did during his coronation... I mean ... inauguration. :P

It was the Republican Chief Justice who flubbed the words, Obama didn't repeat them untill he re-said them correctly. Then to make sure everything was right they had a second swearing in on Weds in the Whitehouse.

'In' four years? Chap...I'm hoping to make fun of him 'for' the next four years :D . I can't wait for the comedy and talk shows to start ripping the p-word out of him, and his media supporters become disillusioned by his actions. More money was spent investigating Clinton's indiscretions than on the 911 Commision Report. Comedy is life and life can be comedy at times.

As for Obama's 'coronation'

It sounded to me like President Obama started to recite the oath before the Chief Justice was done with that particular phrase. The Justice was still talking, when Obama interrupted him. I took it as a bit of nervousness on the President's part. Not that I can blame him; I'd be quite nervous too if I were being sworn in as President of the United States. :)

@ DS: As I said, our elected leaders should be shown the respect due their position. It saddened me to hear and see people heckling President Bush during the inaugural festivities. That's not only disrespectful, but it also really showed how immature, self-absorbed, and lacking of self-discipline the hecklers were.

He did rush the first part, but the rest was all on the Chief Justice:

He somewhat rushed it as well. I think Obama actually knew that the Chief Justice had misplaced the word "faithfully", and that is why he paused like that in order to give him a chance to correct it and finally he just recited it as the Chief Justice had presented it to him.

At any rate, although civil, I hate seeing politics discussed on here. I just hope we can all do our part to help others no matter who we think should be sitting in that office. It's nice to see so many people have hope in such desperate times, but hopefully we all do something with it.

Absolutely. For me heckling and protesting is often an uncomfortable experience to watch or be around, no matter how right they feel they are or actually are and sadly there is never a good time to do it. The can't watch the shoe throwing incident. I'd love to have been the one to have calmed him down though. Hecklers at comedy clubs irritate the ###### out of me. I never heard any booing when I watched it, but the TV reporters said that did happen. Subtle media censorship me thinks, because it was never aired, just mentioned.

Despite the VP's wheelchair situation, I did find the references to 'Dr. Evil' and Blofeld funny, especially when a white fluffy cat was superimposed on his lap. Yes indeed, it was a night of history and balls.

I agree with you, but I don't think we've entered the realm of politics. :)

If he makes his programs really work.......

..................................I think we will have MR Obama around (and to make fun of) for 8 years!

Then again, we still have Biden. He's always good for a few laughs too!

Besides, whatever LEGACY MR Bush will have, will be his own doing. He has to bear the brunt of the entire 8 years. It all happened during his watch.

The worst thing to happen during the Bush years was that fool Conan O'brien taking over The Tonight Show. Ben Stein is funnier than that cretan, and only Donald Trump has a more ridiculous 'do than O'brien.

Totally agree, moving Leno out just to keep Obrian from leaving was stupid from my perspective. I hear the reason they did it is cause he is very popular with the younger crowd and old farts like us are dying off.

I hardly ever watch late night stuff anymore now, but I was personally a letterman fan. There's just something unique about his style of comedy. Obrien got really old for me after awhile.
Really? For me it's the other way around. Letterman is too scripted and a bit 'old hat'. He's ok though and witty at times, but out of the three of them, he comes across as more controlling. Leno is still a bit scripted but comes across as a really nice bloke. Conan's more off the wall and ad libs more which I like, He's written for SNL too. I do feel that he'd be a ###### with you if you met him. Have any of them been out to Iraq or Afghanistan? If not, they should have at least tried to broadcast a show from those countries. I remember Letterman doing a live link to Kosovo before 9-11.

None of that changes the fact that Conan isn't funny, and that his hair is bad. Very bad.
