Dannik
The M110 rifle with iPod Touch mount is apparently in testing. Yes, an iPod mounted to a sniper rifle. The reason? Ballistics calculating software in cheap, over the counter hardware, attached to the rifle.
Rocky
Nice find. You can just imagine the ipod requisitions going in and being met with raised eyebrows.
davros
Oh I just love it! How annoying would it be to be changing the tunes just as your target passes by
Sup
That's actually really cool. I can't imagine it seeing very widespread use as anything more than a proof of concept to get a more purpose-oriented device built though, the US army ordering a massive amount of Apple products seems unlikely. squad_e
Sorry, but i'd rather use the i-pod for target practice ..
krise madsen
I would imagine this thing has merit for recreational (or even competition) long range shooting. But I wouldn't want that big LCD display lighting me up like a Christmas tree in the middle of combat. Downloading ballistics tables from iTunes is awesome cool though.
