MarkAm_i
I need something with excellent surround sound, long cord, volume on cord, etc. All of the things that make up excellent gaming headsets at a reasonable price. Any suggestions? davros
me too At the moment I use an old zalman surround headset with an Andrea Electronics (amazingly good active Noice Cancelling - but expensive) mic. gaffa taped to it Not pretty, but it works so well. Would love to find an elegant replacement. I bought a cheapie Plantronics headset (said it was for skype) and it's crap. audio-645-usb A mate has this one - was $10 more and I was too cheap to buy it...and it sounds good on Voip...though is a little quiet and does pick up some background noise. gamecom-
Pave Low
I can recommend the Speedlink Medusa 5.1 Home Edition Headset http://www.medusa-usa.com/medusa-51-home-edition-p-876.html one nice touch is you can connect 2x PC's (or a PC + another other device) and just switch between them at the press of a button. it may seem a little bit pricy but if you shop around can get it for a lot less and it is a quality product
Dick Splash
it may seem a little bit pricy but if you shop around can get it for a lot less and it is a quality productThey look good. It's a real chore shopping around for headphones and headsets. Like most things, you need to test them yourself for the job you need them for to decide whether or not they're any good. I've just seen some Bluetooth noise cancelling ones from HP, but I'd have to buy them to try them. DS
Noraf
resurecting this a bit, if you haven't allready got a new headset, i'd recomend : http://uk.europe.creative.com/products/pro...337&listby= I've been using it since last summer, when my trusted trust headset finaly gave up ( or rather, i gave up repairing it, since the cord snaped for the 3rd time ). It's a good headset, works greate with arma () , and no problems with music and movies aswell, only problem i got is with the wife ( can't hear her wery well when i'm using 'em, but......) ( they are used with an creative x-fi gamer )
BSR_Vhladd
I use and highly recommend the Icemat Siberia Steelseries headset. Icemat Siberia Steelseries Headset Very comfortable, 10 ft. cord, inline volume control, AND a seperate mic. The mic is not attached to the headset and works exceptionally well. I have the mic about 2 feet away mounted on the monitor and it transmits loud and clear.
MarkAm_i
Thanks, I ended up getting a Plantronics headset at Best Buy for $50 (though I hate their customer service). Because it was easy and I didn't have to wait for them. They sound pretty good, a lot better than anything I've owned yet. I'll look into your suggestions if it comes to getting another set again.
