Ghost Recon Modders Hall of Fame

It has been bothering me for some time now that there is not a single thread in these forums dedicated to all the people who gave their time and energy to develop mods for our favorite game to be used freely by all of us.

As a token of appreciation for their work, I would hereby like to introduce the "Ghost Recon Modders Hall of Fame" - a thread for you to post the name of any person you consider noteworthy in the GR modding community, together with the name(s) of the mod(s) that person has created or collaborated on, and/or a short explanation why you want them in the Hall of Fame.

This is not about who might be more important than another - all mentioned names will be listed in the first post alphabetically. Just post whoever comes to your mind at the moment, it does not matter whether the name has been posted before or is already listed in the Hall of Fame. And post again when you think of another name to be listed, as often as you like.

One rule: Name only ONE person per post!

If you want to enter more than one name, post the first one and wait for somebody else to post before you go again. Or you could just wait a couple of hours and play Ghost Recon.

I really don't want to be intolerant about the One name per post rule, but I think every single name deserves individual attention, and allowing just one name per post makes you think about your choice more carefully. Hope you can agree?

Now, without further ado - here are the people who carried the torch of GR modding:

My verdict: Valid entry! :D

sorry to do this...

Thales my brother, for his amazing drive to produce for GR and inspiring me to one last great mod.

Jay for pushing me in the early days to further my abilities in scripting.

Tinker for his endless support in these forums and never, NEVER saying die to GR.

Rocky my other brother - for all that we have here.

so many others but these guys were always there for me and my modworks.

And to the Frostbite and YOTM modders who set new benchmarks for GR expansions....wow!!

All the ppl and squads who gave hours to produce and host tourneys - Alpha Squad, 9MS, SD+, etc - and inspired me to produce Tourneys.

thank you all

Bajabravo for all his excellent mods and sacrifice helping other learn to mod.

Earl - Great support to the weapon modding community.

eSkwaad- Bringing next generation characters to Ghost Recon.

Jack57 - Amazing campaigns that came out early in the GR timeline, but are still considered among the best ever produced.

Team nominations: SEALZ and DTD... no descriptions necessary for us old timers.

In no specific order:

GWDS for his dedication to the ethical modder cause. He's also produced some top notch content of his own.

Cobaka for being the unsung hero of some really neat stuff, as well as his unnecessary modestness.

Harntrox for being the ingenious source of so much new content. It wasn't always pretty, but it was always refreshing.

OSO for Frostbite. I know it wasn't just him by any stretch, but he was the catalyst for possibly the best unofficial expansion pack in the GR world.

The list could go on for a while, but I'll leave it at those above. Thanks, folks, for all your fantastic work.

I won't repeat those already listed except to nod again in Alpha and +SD's direction for their excellent tourney missions, and to give Oso props for being an all-around all-star.

Sleeper for his maps in YOTM, Frostbite and December.

Neutron for his maps in Frostbite.

Karma and Sarc for TG 3.0 - I know the mod didn't get very far out of the TG community, but they nailed a gameplay style within a particular niche, tweaking weapons in just the right way and creating some of the most difficult and fun co-op missions for our community.

Well, although its a real compliment, I don't think my name should be added to this list just yet (and certainly not on the basis of an unfinished map :D )

The amount of "released" material I have out there is minimal, so its a little premature maybe

My vote goes to Sleeper, definitely not appreciated enough (and he helped me out when I had even less idea about modding than I do now, so a nice guy too ;) )

shame about only one per if they have already been mentioned anyway..but let me play by your rules Apex'

Thanks for playing along, Migryder. I really don't want to be intolerant about this, but I think every single name deserves individual attention, and allowing just one name per post makes you think about your choice more carefully. Hope you can agree?
