Psyche_FD
Has anyone here ever read Ghost Recon the book? I consider myself a pretty hardcore recon fan (even though I have been MIA on the games for quite sometime) and reading the books seem like the next step. The reviews on amazon seem pretty good too. Thoughts? Linky! http://www.amazon.com/Clancys-Ghost-Recon-...4503&sr=1-
WhiteKnight77
I saw the book at Borders a couple of weeks ago and perused a bit of it, but when I saw Capt. Mitchell's name my stomache kind of turned over.
Foxtrot360
Did the book have animated cross-comm illustrations too?
V2_Bloodline
Is the tag line "Cross-com activated!"?
krise madsen
Without some sort of sterling review, my only reference frame to a Ghost Recon (in the current GRAW sense of the word) book would be the games, i.e. GRAW1 and -2. Considering they were such toe-curlingly tacky pieces of dribble (not helped much by the lousy execution) that I really don't see why I should part with any of my hard earned money to read that. Respectfully krise madsen PS: Of course, if the book by some miracle contained something truly entertaining then it would be another story. And by "truly entertaining" I mean Capt. Mitchell and friends dying a slow and painful death; like, being crotch-beaten to death. Edited November 26, 2008 by krise madsen
NoQuarter
Did the book have animated cross-comm illustrations too? ____ Did that Amazon review mention whether you could advance to chapter 2 without running into a snag or the book crashing to desktop? Especially guys since they have to visualize what is going on in the book.
WhiteKnight77
Psyche, as you can see, this is a tough crowd. I wont say anymore as I already posted much about it in a thread over in the FD forum (that really long winded post).
Psyche_FD
Hey white Knight! I consider the FD forum crowd to the tough. This one seems like a walk in the park to them. (its a compliment). Anyways its about time I get on forums other than FD and GB.
ceptico
Did that Amazon review mention whether you could advance to chapter 2 without running into a snag or the book crashing to desktop? Or that you couldn't see the last pages of the book from a certain distance...

Rocky
Wow, I never knew about this at all! Thanks for posting it up! The same guy did one for End War! Hmmm, interesting to note, that the publisher is Berkely Books, who also publish Tom Clancy novels.

MikeAP
If this book was written in the style of GR1 and a fight against Eastern block rebels I'd be interested. This new GRAW crap is for the birds. No thanks.
CR6
Wow, I never knew about this at all! Thanks for posting it up! The same guy did one for End War! There's a GR book? LOL BTW, Clancy books have had a few different authors writing under the pseudonym of David Michaels.
Tinker
I put my hand up to never reading, especially buying books. Went out this morning to find this, but had no luck. Will google it. I did pick up 1 though. Tom Clancy`s Op-Centre Games of State.
+Medic+~SPARTA~
I saw the GR book at the local grocery. $9.99 for a paperback is way too much. I'll look for it used somewhere.
doubletap
When TC grows his balls back and tells Ubi to stop developing this arcade rubbish with his name on it, I'll buy his books. That was immature, I know. Edited January 20, 2009 by doubletap
