Extracting A Bundle.....

Recommended Posts

I was following the wiki trying to make urban_conflict into a coop game in 15min. >_<

I edit world_info and replace mission xml then create the editor.bin but the editor will not open.

I believe my issue is that I have vista and it is not extracting the bundle exactly like xp did in the video.

Here is a capture of the contents of the coop_urban_conflit folder as you can see it's not the same as in the video.

do you think thats my issue?? that it didn't extract correctly?? Any Ideas??

Thanks, Brian

editor.bin <--- assume you mean editor.bat ? Looks like it's editor.bat from the screen dump.

Otherwise looks ok...I suspect a typo somewhere...

  1. Can you cut and paste the contents of editor.bat for me here?
  2. Can you cut and paste the contents of world_info.xml for me here?

Thanks,

Dav.

yeah I'll post pic's when I get home tonight.

I just thought of something my issue might be the "run as admin" thing again.....I might need to set the editor.bat file to run as admin in the properties. (can't believe I didn't check that out last night. )

Hmmm looking at that again, it looks like the path name in Vista where you installed GRAW2 is "Program Files (x86)" as opposed to the "normal" "Program Files" in say XP.

Check the path to your graw.exe and use that in the .bat file....it looks like it may be what's causing the issue...

ie. "C:\Program Files (x86)\UBISOFT\Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2\graw2.exe"

Are you running Vista 64 by any chance?

yes it's 64.

tried adding quote. no go.

I thought that maybe I had to set the editor up as run as admin along with the .bat but that didn't work either.

I'll play around some more tomorrow if you got any more ideas let me know.

Thanks, Brian

Did you check the actual pathname? It looks like it has installed GRAW into a dir with a " (x86)" after the program files name...has it? If so, that's missing in your pathname in the bat file.

ie. "C:\Program Files (x86)\UBISOFT\Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2\graw2.exe"

If you are about now, you can IM me ?

ok I'm in on the map.

I tried so many things I'm not sure if they all helped from adding the quote to adding run as admin on everything but the (x86) was the last thing that got me in.....what a dumb thing to miss.

Thanks for the help I'll try to get this scripting down and repay you all with some coop missions.

now off to the wiki.......

bkriley. well done! I am so glad you worked it out!

As I am sure you are aware, this will be only the first of many times you say that! ("...what a dumb thing to miss"). It's just the gap from the event to the realization that gets shorter.

Great to hear your on your way again.

Don't hesitate to ask for more help with anything -- no matter how small.
