offspring_18_87
hi there im a new guy here and a senior member on militaryphotos.net i was wondering if anyone has created a modern russian soldier. one of my big gripes with GR1 is the fact that the ruskies use steel even though its the future...the picture is a pic of the helmet that is currently replacing the steel....it should look like this: Edited June 12, 2008 by offspring_18_87
wombat50
To my knowledge, no one has specifically created a model as you suggest. Until someone does, an alternative would be to take a "ghost" model and retexture it using appropriate camouflage . I know the stock US helmet is not quite the same but it would do in a pinch. wombat50
Models can only be created with 3dStudioMax. But you can reskin the character models in GR without it. It would be handy if you had PhotoShop to edit texture files. You have to put the .rsb plugin in the Plugin folder of Photoshop.Get the .rsb plugin off the IT disc. I think it is in the extras folder. If you have not done any character creation it is a little confusing at first. I'll just outline it. -You will have to setup your own mod, please don't add to your original game files! -You will have to find a ghost model(example ica_us_rifleman.chr, ica_us_rifleman_a.chr and ica_us_rifleman_b.chr) which would be the .chr (character) files. Look in Ghost Recon\Mods\Origmiss\Character\Allied. -Find and edit the .atr(actor) file for the above. Look in Ghost Recon\Mods\Origmiss\Actor\rifleman -reskin the .rsb texture (ica_us_rifleman_body) with the Ghost Recon Skinner v1.1 ( I have found this the easiest) -All of these files will have to be pasted and renamed in your mod. -To edit a read only file, uncheck that attribute in the properties of the file. Right Click on the file and choose properties from the menu. thales100
K so replacing the head gear of a russian soldier , like the rus_north_aks74 , with an "american" helmet , would be ok ? I can make this happen next weekend.
