Custom Coop Maps

Hi All.

I keep seeing all these new maps coming out, but nobody seems to be supporting coop maps when they make HH,TDM etc, why is this ?

If I could make any map, I would, no problem, but I cant, so have to rely on the eggheads out there to do this :thumbsup:

There are many well known members here that do support coop and my thanks for that on behalf of all coop players out there (you know who you are !).

Is it that hard to script AI coop and thats why normal map makers are avoiding it ?

Its just that the coop community, I think, are losing out on many maps they will never be able to play unless they cross over to the other types.

Thats my 10 cents worth of moan for this month.

What do YOU think ?

The reason why I'm so quiet is that I begin working 40 hours a week and it's a physical job so when I arrive home I'm tired so I don't have the energy and the enthousiasm to do it.

The more you want to put in a coop map the more time it took exemple 'coop_base13' took me 2 weeks; it's the biggest ever coop map for GRAW2...and every time I do a map I want it to be better than the previous one.The longuest part of coop mapping is testing what you scrypt to see if everything works the way you like and I'm perfectionist in what I do.

I must have 5 coop for GRAW2 in the work like one I have with 'ageia Island' for those who have the 'ageia physic X card'...a suite for 'coop_estrada' ...'coop_estradav2' with the one that raining you will spawned on top where you end first part...I also create a map for GRAW1 with more than 1 obj appear on the hud but zulu always there...the only thing I don't have much is time.

Don't know when but as soon as I finished one you'll be the first to know here on GR.net...

The issue here CJ is that making a coop mission is more than making a map.

...it's the anemy placement, cover, AI and vehicle mapping and the storyline scripting ...and THEN the testing....that are the "issues" with creating a coop mission. Any of these maps can be used as the basis for a coop mission. Just download it, add script, units/enemy, AI maps etc. and presto, a new coop game is born.

I am not suggesting that map making is easy, it is not, however there are significant additional steps required after a map is made to create a playable coop mission.

I have been playing at the edges of the scripting, editor and other elements of GRAW2 for some months now and I can honestly say that it is a tough learning curve - but once you are there, like many things, it's not that hard to create (average) coop games. Creating good ones is the tough part and something that I am now trying to master from rpghard and others.

I highly recomend you give it a go too. If I can learn it, anyone can!

I really wish I could, as I would churn them out big time for all to use, as I really enjoy the coop mode of gameplay.

I would not know where to start with making a map so would be a real baby noobie !
