Commander Outcast
I thought they said it was going to be another modern version. Should of done Vietnam... Anyway, pacific theater is good too. The only other pacific theater game I know of is the history channel game, which I heard sucked rusty nails. Cant wait for some screenies. Zebb
I have to say that if it's going to be set anywhere other then current day or near future then I won't be that interested.
rookie
The only thing that caught my interest in CoD4 was the Modern Warfare-topic. So I won't be interested in CoD5 as well.

Sup
The fifth game in the CoD series, which is being developed by CoD3 studio Treyarch i wouldn't get too excited, guys.
REDMONSTER
hopefully this one comes to the pc. hope they do it justace. anyone ever wonder why there is like no games based on the US/Japs side in ww2? there is too many to even think of for the german side but like none on the pascfic side O_o
dporter
i wouldn't get too excited, guys. Since they have had almost a years worth of more time on this game then they did COD3 and it doesn't seem to be a rush job, then I'm not going to discount it yet. It's also using the COD4 engine which honestly looks beatiful and runs like a champ on my budget gaming rig. I'm also eager to hear more about the coop. Hopefully the online coop missions are a bit more open. Kind of wish they were doing another modern title as well with the coop since I love the weapons they have in the current title. I think the only game I've ever played from the ww2 era that focused on the Pacific front was Medal of Honor Rising Sun on the ps2. Very fun game. The kamakazis running up to the tanks and exploding where definitely interesting.
Walter
anyone ever wonder why there is like no games based on the US/Japs side in ww2? there is too mny to even think of for the german side but like none on the pascfic side O_o Because of the type of island combat that went on doesn't allow for very varying levels, or hadn't in the past. Or so I'm led to believe. Anyway I heard on the 1 Up Yours podcast Capcom or Konami or one of those companies I know very little about is working on a WWII game from the Japanese side. Aren't TreyArch responsible for UO. Thought some parts were better than the first COD. Treyarch are by no means a bad studio. Sup
UO was developed by Grey Matter -- it merged into treyarch, but at that time was a completely different company and teams have changed around a lot since. They have made two awful COD games. Call of Duty 2: Big Red One and Call of Duty 3, and i don't think being rushed was the issue in either case. They were re-using assets from the other COD games, so they didn't need as much development time. As you guys frequently point out, cod is an on rails, tightly scripted shooter. It is consistently so good because infinity ward employs amazing mission scripters. Treyarch, in the past, has not shown near the skill or finesse in that area, and as such their cod games tend to fall pretty flat.
GrimeyAK
Treyarch really doesn't have a good track record with CoD games, but I hope this is good. At least for the 4-player co-op. Aside from Halo 3 and Gears, there really haven't been many good co-op experiences.

Sup
who cater to the ADD market that settle for it and willingly, year after year, buy another ticket for that new roller coaster ride. I don't understand. Are roller coasters not entertainment? Isn't that what infinity ward is selling? A few hours of entertainment?
NoQuarter
A few hours of entertainment? If that. ____ You are right though, they have the market sewn up, so much so that they don't have to make an attempt to think outside the box and get creative with any of these PBN releases, say by allowing their customer base entertain themselves during play instead of having the game do all the entertaining - by its very design. Having to think or maybe do a little problem solving (other than trying to remember what side your on) in a game can be considered entertainment as well. But whatever floats your boat. Sup
Having to think or maybe do a little problem solving (other than trying to remember what side your on) in a game can be considered entertainment as well. Of course it can. They're simply two different types of entertainment, and neither is really any more or less valuable than the other. I enjoy both, that's why i'm here, i'm just among the minority around this forum that likes videogames in general and tactical shooters.
