Lightspeed
hits the shelves and i bought it - will let u know how it goes.....
NightCrawler
Here's my take. Bought it and installed on day of release. The beginning area is very well done even though it's linear, it's very good for those that have never played an MMORPG. Once you leave Tortage, you'll start to feel a bit let down, the NPC's don't have voice actors anymore and travel is long and tedious as it should be IMHO. There is a lot to do though, well til level 60 from what I'm reading on their forums. Graphics are top notch, harvesting is good, tradeskilling needs work and lots of it. The broker system and economy is still in it's infancy, though they just added to the dismay of some, binding of equipment. Overall I'd say it's a good game that will become great, once the bugs are worked out and they add some high level content. I'll still be playing as I can't resist taking someone's head several times daily.
Parabellum
I'm probably going to be cancelling my AoC subscription at the end of the month. The game gets dull, IMO. Tortage was the best part of the game, and as NC said, you start to feel let down afterward. By lvl 50 or so, there are only one or two zones to go to, there aren't enough quests, and you end up grinding out repeatables to level. And for what purpose? To get to the next level and do it all over again. Maybe in six months or a year Age of Conan will be a good game. As of now though, the game is simply unfinished. NightCrawler
I understand how you feel Para. Most of my guild is now gone also, just me and a couple of others hanging on to some hope that they get it together. I'll probably wait til the first of the year and then who knows. Lightspeed
yeh i cancelled my subscription b4 i even got to month 2. Tortage was ok, but i think the reason why i hate all MMORPGs is that the battle are essentially point and click. what ###### me off the most about AoC was travelling a great distance to a place - complete a Quest - travel back to NPC and he asks u to go all the way back to the same place to do something else. ghey. v disappointing. Joseph_Q
Yes, the game was big disappointment. Now I play Warhammer Online and I must say that this game is much better/finished so far.
Parabellum
Does anyone here still play AoC? I canceled several months ago, and haven't gone back. The game had SO much potential, so I hope that eventually Funcom will be able to get their act together and get it right.
NightCrawler
I was playing up until the first part of December. Finally I gave up and went back to EverQuest2. Though the game still has the potential, it's just now starting to become what it should've been at release. They're in the process of server merges as I post this, that could help them just a bit, the server I was on all but died around me. My biggest complaint was lack of good tradeskilling and an economy. Combat kept me in for 6 months but even that finally was toned down for the pvp crowd, they were whining that it was too cumbersome. I figure I'll give it a year or so and if it's still alive, go and take another look.
Parabellum
I ended up going back to EverQuest 2 as well. I don't play much, honestly though. The new expansion sucks, just like the last one did. I play on Antonia Bayle when I do log on, though. The server is always packed, so there are always plenty of people to play with. Or plenty of idiots to avoid. Whichever way you happen to look at it.
