NoQuarter 0
I want to install Vista Ultimate on my XP Pro (both 32 bit) system so my options are... 1; Dual-boot. I really do not want to go through the process of backing up/transfering, reformating and partitioning the HDD, then reinstalling XP/MS products and all of the updates required. 2; Install the new OS on my data (2nd) HDD, again, backing up/transfering, reformating and partioning and then having to switch to the drive during POST- boot up. or 3: Creating a ghost machine using Microsoft Virtual PC 2007. Anyone have any opinions on/experience with Virtual PC in this use? Any advice (or horror stories) on what works best, what doesn't, and what would be the best route to take? ROCO*AFZ* 0
Ms virtual machine does not support USB. Also note it uses a generic video driver so not an option at least for gaming. I use Vista business 64bit here at work and XP in a vitual machine with older office 2003, IE6 and such for troubleshooting. If you want to game on it, and you have an old hard drive. unplug your vista, load xp to the 2nd drive then plug vista in. (so they don't overwrite the boot loaders. If you have an asus board like me, i just hit f8 on boot and choose my xp drive (used to at least till vista was stable) when i wanted to use xp.
