BS PALADIN
Great interview with Geridak that gives alot of insight into life as a developer and how the Ghost recon games come about. http://play2compete.com/forum/index.php?sh...2&#entry552

kleaneasy
I enjoyed reading this one, particularly the bit about at what point to approach your prey based on what to do if they turn out to be ugly lmfao
Bota:16
His comments about the original GR and people still making mods for it seemed kind of like a slap in the face to those people. I guess quantity trumps quality in his eyes. Though that has been pretty obvious for some time now.

Which part of the interview was that? Can you quote it? I read it pretty fast so I may not have registered.

BS PALADIN
Theres alot of stuff to talk about in that interview. But of particular interest to me was jeff reference to lack of replay value in single player games. To me that shows that we can expect to hopefully see the next Ghost Recon with a far deeper single player campaign. Another thing was him linking Ghost Recon mechanics with a survival horror. Now this was aachieved in part with Operation Flashpoint. In particular the level were you are isolated from your unit deep behind enemy lines. There is true fear there when you find yourself alone in the forest and you need to bypass the patrols hunting for you. War and horror go hand in hand. Alderei
I didn't think Jeff's comment about the Modders was necessarily a slap in the face. He was just pointing out that developers have to make money on a game, and that means making something shiny enough to get people to buy it. Video games are now a large industry, and selling a game means a lot more than satisfying a consumer that will likely buy another game anyway. Ghost Recon 1 had me certainly raised my heart-rate, alone, in the dark, more than once...
