Rocky 1,224
Here's an interesting thing. On my old PC, loading webpages sometimes took a few seconds, on GR.net for example, the images in the nav bar noticeably loaded one at a time, so the pages took a good few seconds to fully load. I kept the computer defragged, and spyware free - so I could only assume it wasn't the fastest of webservers that it was on. That was a bit puzzling because I thought it was on a new fast server, however, I just put up with it. Anyway, low and behold, on my new PC, with the same internet connection, and GR.net loads on a blink of an eye, and I am not exaggerating, it loads fully in a split second. I find this interesting because now I do have some new found sympathy for ISP tech support lines when they have customers phoning up complaining of slow browsing or net speed. There can be any number of reasons that can end up severely impacting on net speed, some of which apparently I'm not even aware of.
