Skii
Hello all, I spend most of my computer time playing Il2, however I really want a decent first person shooter with some strategy and tactics. I did have Rogue Spear but wasn't keen on the complicated pre-planning, aiming guns was done for me, and just didn't 'feel' like I'd burst off a clip of 9mm. I've seen the screenshots of Ghost Recon and I must say they are stunning, (particularly snipers in ghillie suits) and the prospect of lying in wait with a Barrett .50 sounds very nice So - should I suit up? _1G_HiLandR
Okay, well ehre's my wothless plug. I've been gaming for 20 years, give or take a few. This game, by far, is the best gaming experience I have had. My total favorite. The game is more real to me than others. There is a sense of urgency that doesn't exist in other shooters. This isn't about frags, it's about missions. And the missions have a reality to them based on Clancy's experience. How's that?
SIX
I am an ol' Rainbow Sixer and RS and then GR guy! I also am a fanatic when it comes to flying the Heavy 747-400's in MS Flight Sim 2k2 (the PSS flavor). With that thought, you and I have at least a couple things in common. I never used the pre-planning function in R6/RS, it was just too complicated. We agree there. I would go download plans made by others who had patience and enjoyed them greatly. GR is another story. You definatly plan as you go and it works soooo much better. R6 3 is coming out soon and I even thing, you can correct me if I am wrong, that they are going to use the GR style of planning. It really works great! There are some things that could be improved and they will be, in time. GR is just a great game with great people involved! It is very realistic and the graphics are just plain stunning. In fact, you have me worked all up. I am off to play a round!
DWilliams11
...you can correct me if I am wrong, that they are going to use the GR style of planning... Naw... RVS will have similar planning to RS/UO... although it will be "simplified." As for the getting GR. Ghost Recon is in the top 3 games I have ever played. I have been gaming for about 7 years and have always been a realism fan, from flight sims to TacSims... Do yourself a favor and buy this game. Do the training, Play the missions, download some mods... Trust me, you'll love it. I feel like playing too! GR arguably the best game out there right now. I would argue that it is. Rocky
So - should I suit up? For sure, just make sure you buy the correct pack. There are compilation packs out now depending on which part of the world you are in. You could pick up GR including both the expansion packs for a very reasonable price if you are lucky. SIX
Yeah Rocky is right. If you bought GR, DS and IT seperatly, you would easily yank out $80. I bought the Special edition with GR and DS and IT on amazon, thought ghostrecon.net's affiliation, and got out cheaper than a retail GR alone! Rocky
I bought the Special edition with GR and DS and IT on amazon, thought ghostrecon.net's affiliation, and got out cheaper than a retail GR alone! Talking about the Amazon affilaition we have, someone asked me how much that brings in for GR.net - so I checked the stats for this month. You'll never guess what - I was due them money!! Turns out someone must have returned an item they bought last month, meaning that this month they deducted that credit, meaning I was due them one dollar. LOL. Major Maximum
T]-[|$ G/-\/\/\3 P/\/ \^/$ J()() did you just say "this game pawns you"? anyway, by the time i first got GR(over a year ago) i hadn't ever played an tactical FPS games (other than the first level of R6 for N64 at my cousins house). i was strictly a command & conquer/ Starcraft/duke nukem 3d type guy. coming from that end of the spectrum made getting used to the "stealth" controls pretty hard. Although once i got the hang of it, GR was my favorite game i had ever played in my life. (IMHO-co-op MP GR is some of the best multiplayer you'll play)
JoeSchmoe
Man, if only I was leet, I'd know leetspeak. Personally, I was enjoying the demo when that was available for download; though my pc didn't meet the minimum specs, so I had to play the game on my flatmate's pc until I could afford an upgrade! Since then, the other games that I played seem to have faded, and other games have come and gone from my harddrive. GR seems a pretty permanent fixture. Basically, I love the game. yeutinh
I had tones of games, bought or from friends, but one thing I never hesitate, was buying all three packs for GR and d/l all the latest stuffs. At first I hate the style of gaming since I've got used to R6 way of forward planing and exact execution of plan. But GR got me hook after the first demo game ... Well I guess it satisfy the urge to be warriors, safely in our bedroom. If you haven't play it, you haven't been playing real game ... cheerz
SIX
Amazon Returns? Not me baby! I have all my crap, even the $250 Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer! I think I clicked through and then went lollygagg'n around the Kitchen Aid Store before I purchased, so hopefully, that would make some difference All in all, I think the wife and I spent about $500 on Amazon and all of it, I think, was through here!
