Another one bites the dust...

Maybe theres a connection, are all the anti-game crusaders closet perverts?

If there is a direct correlation, then Jack Thompson is right now stuffing his crack pipe with the dope he bought from Osama Bin Laden, sucking his teeth trying to dislodge the piece of grilled Cambodian orphan stuck there, while the Golden Labrador he's intimate with is trying to chrew through its leach, and just before popping in the snuff film DVD he bought with the money he took from the two nuns he killed...

silly question but whats he done?

 Read Serellan's blog.... or turn on the telly any news bulletin ... or look on teh internets

but Allegedly ;)

The investigation began last year when banks reported irregular transfers to the Internal Revenue Service, which traced them back to Mr Spitzer and discovered they were made to a high-priced prostitution ring, an unnamed law enforcement official told the Associated Press (AP) news agency.

Mr Spitzer, 48, was overheard during a surveillance operation arranging to meet a woman - "Kristen"- in a Washington hotel last month, the AP source alleged.

Kristen was described by the prostitution agency as a "petite, pretty brunette", according to a federal court document, the source said.

Investigators had found that Mr Spitzer was a repeat customer with the agency, called the Emperors Club VIP, the official said.

He allegedly paid more than $4,000 for the girl's services.

No charges have been brought against Mr Spitzer, and he has not admitted any offence.

But he did tell a packed press conference at his Manhattan office: "I have disappointed and failed to live up to the standard I expected of myself.

"I must now dedicate some time to regain the trust of my family," he added, as his wife of two decades, Silda, stood by his side.

An editorial in the Wall Street Journal said: "Governor Spitzer, who made his career by specialising in not just the prosecution, but the ruin, of other men, is himself almost certainly ruined."

I wonder if she has enough sence to move on.

If she is a gold digger... Power, money, fame = she stays

So, you're saying she's a politician?

I would have to agree with WK's post.

Hillary did. I bet Spitzer's wife stays too.

errm, neither do I ;)

From: Cambridge, UK

and it has been on the news here ... and in fact the quote I posted was right off the front page of the jolly old BBC news web page

but going back to the blog, the secret is in the third line line in :P

Spitzer FTW!

It's moderately satisfying to see yet another politician who has partially built his credibility on bashing games fall from grace, due to his inability to stick to his preachy roots (and his inability to keep from banging hookers). While it is nice to see the hypocrisy of any politician exposed, I have one request for future scumbags hypocrites.

I have no problem with prostitution, being a libertarian myself. In fact, I think it should be legal. But if you base your career on rooting out "evil," and include video games as evil, when you finally decide to succumb to eventual corruption that power breeds and get caught committing a felony, please don't drag your wife up on stage with you. It's got to be hard enough for her to have the hypocrisies of her husband called out in public; at least spare her the humiliation of standing next to your while you scrabble for the last hope of your career. Oh well; at least Spitzer will have plenty of time to play GTA now that he can't nail high-priced prostitutes in Washington, DC.

:P @ Pave..... sorry couldnt resist hehe

Seriously though.... I'm curious why is it that an MP's ability to do their job properly is based on their ability to run their own personal life?

Although it is an issue here to a degree it doesnt seem to be to the same extent as in the US, unless my assesment of reaction is inaccurate which is quite possible. I mean I understand the idea that you want the person running your town/ city/ state/ country to be a morally sound person but I consider myself a good moral person and I've done some daft idiotic stuff in my time

Including that last post? :D

Generally speaking, I would try to avoid consulting a doctor with a drug habit, would be uncomfortable placing my children in the presence of a pedophilic priest, and yes, question the authority of a former AG, now governor, who built his career on political witch-hunts and the gleeful destruction of companies or corporations which he deemed "immoral"...only to find out that he has been involved as a client -subject to coercion/blackmail- in a mob-run prostitution ring for the better part of a decade, covering it up, at taxpayers expense, with his security detail.

I suppose it just boils down to a certain tolerance level, along with an understanding of the details.

What he said. I don't know about many people here, but I expect people who run my country and state, especially those who go after certain types of business due to what they do (he considers some video games to be corruptive) to uphold the same standard they expect everyone else to meet. When you bust a crime syndicate, you expect him to be free of falling into their influence by visiting a prostitution ring they run.

He is one reason why I despise career politicans. They are not as squeaky clean as many seem to be and they are only interested in the power and money that they can give themselves.
