MrC 0
Why do the gfx either side of my screen seem nice and clear yet in the centre are all foggy? And how do i change it? Ive got a GFTI4600 with 43.45 drivers. Do i need one of those tweak tools to change the direct X settings, ( as i guess thats whats causing the problem, drawing from the top left or something). Any help would be great. Oh, im running DX9.0a to. Cheers
NYR_32 6
I would first just try different drivers, maybe the 43.45's don't agree with your system. How was the image quality and performance with other drivers? Cause if it was fine I would just switch back to those. Here are links to older Nvidia drivers, use only the right ones for your operating system. MrC 0
Ive tried lots of different Nvidia drivers, i used to have the same problem with my old PC which had a GFTi4400 128Mb. I think its a problem with DirectX, but i had the same problem running DX8 to. The image quality and performance are superb. Its just annoying that the sides of the image, especially in RvS and Morrowind, have a greater depth of view. This makes me think its the way DX draws the image. I dunno
NYR_32 6
Are you using the same monitor cause, I'm just thinking that it may have to do with the monitor then not DX or your graphics card but I could be wrong. Edited May 7, 2003 by NYR_32
Dark Ranger 0
EDIT: You guys posted before me... Is the "fogginess" just visible in GR, or all other apps? NYR has a good suggestion. Try some of the ones listed, mainly the 29.42, 30.82, and the 41.09, with regard to your OS. - Try running all of the DX tests just to be sure - Start/Run - type "DXdiag" (w/o quotes), and run all of the graphic/sound tests. - Are you using Anti-Aliasing or Anisotropic Filtering? Try disabling them. - Check your Monitor settings to be sure they did not get royally screwed up. - What OS are you using? If you decide to try some drivers, just be sure to uninstall your existing one, reboot, then install the new one.
MrC 0
Im running a different monitor now. I think i;ve always had this problem though. GR is fine, even with everything maxed out. Ive been through all the DX tests. Posting was my last resort as i didn't wanna seem like a divvy Its worse with Raven Shield, i can see someone at the edge of the screen, but when i look full on them to shoot they vanish in fog! Ill try disabling AA and AF.
Dark Ranger 0
Just wondering, did you get your Ti in a Packaged-Game bundle? Sometimes manufactures like to include different video cards among their games. Wouldn't think this would be the case, cause it is a nicer card than most... They sometimes have "proprietary" drivers, or utilities that need to be utillized. What OS are you using?
MrC 0
Na, got the Ti with my new PC, from Alienware It came with the 42.?? drivers. The Ti4400 in my other PC was off the shelf. The Ti with the Alienware PC has got a gfx utility, ( their own) but it doesn't seem to have a function for changing the way DX draws on the screen.
