Kimi
HAs anyone downloaded them yet. Want to know if the siege bases are in better locations. Putting bases in corner killed GRAW/GRAW 2 siege. Siege bases need to be in open locations so that they are flankable. If they are stuck in corners again then i wont be recommending these maps to anyone. Paladin, this only happens in normal Siege. If you play Blind Siege it should help with your desire to use flanking tactics, no?
Kurtz
The maps are absolutely beautiful, and very faithful recreations of the original. I especially appreciate the 5 coop campaign missions and 9 coop elimination maps. Great job, much appreciated.
BS PALADIN
I responded over at the ubi forums. Short answer is no but tbh at least its no worse than siege we already had with GRAW 2. I guess it will have to be endured until GRAW 3/GR4.

beonder13
I think the maps are spectacular. The point issue was a major mess-up and i'm a little ###### about it. The other issue I have is that there are no "alternate time of day" settings. Seems like a simple addition that was left out. How could you not have "Night castle"??? I hope UBI doesn't plan on releasing alternate time of day for another 800 pts. We played all the new maps on SS, Seige and BS. We'll be running the co-op missions tonight. Alderei
Can anyone comment on the new Co-op missions.....are they any good....any details before I download? Thanx I think part of the deal with these maps was updating the missions as they were to fit with the new storylines and gameplay. Keep that in mind. For instance, Caves still has a guy to "capture" in the caves and escort to the extraction zone. But its not Papashvilhi. Its someone else. I only played 2 missions last night, but both worked out well. However, they are not the same as the [GR] missions. An example: RR Bridge begins with your objective being to repel an assault on the allied outpost. However, its a lot easier than the Tank column from [GR]. Also, it happens right away, so you're racing to make it happen. The mission is still a lot of fun, but gone are the days of rocket launching a tank from the cliffs or bridge. You just don't have the time to get there. The objectives themselves are a lot like other GRAW objectives. Recover the intel, demolish the shipments. As far as gameplay, because the assault on the allied position happens immediately, you have to clear that objective first. It would have been better to be up in the hills investigating a shipment or eliminating a patrol only to hear the General crackle over the radio, "Incoming...Enemy Armor, Ghosts move now!!!" Still, these maps are GORGEOUS and ability to function as a team in Co-Op is as good as ever. RAINBOW SIX will now return to its case and gather dust. Likely forever. oorlogshond
Can anyone comment on the new Co-op missions.....are they any good....any details before I download? Thanx I haven't played them all yet but here is my first impression... I've only played the first 10 minutes of Caves, RR Bridge and Swamp Airfield but it seems to be designed for the mentally challenged among us. You'll get a video feed from General Martin every 10 seconds basically ruining the game for you by explaining and telling you EVERYTHING thats happeing or is about to happen(yes, he can look into the future aswell). You hear a shot and... incoming video: "look out there are snipers in the area!" Really?? Thanks but please let me figure this out by myself. Next you see a armored vehicle coming towards you and right at the moment you start engaging... incoming video: "armored vehicle incoming!" Really?? No ######... General Martin aka captain obvious is not with you on the battlefield yet he is all knowing. General Martin is like the paperclip in MS Word. Just ###### annoying. If you want the good old experience(suspense, strategy, stealth, sweaty hands etc) then it looks like this won't be your thing. RR Bridge for example, in the orignal mission you had to figure out where the enemy was coming from, how many there were and the right order/timing of engaging them. A ######load of soldiers pouring in from different directions and something like 4 tanks plus some more soldiers. It was quite challenging. This is how the new version starts: help your allied soldiers by defeating 10 soldiers and 1 armored vehicle. Apparantly those allied soldiers couldn't handle it without me. I was done, all alone, in a few seconds. And up comes the video feed with General Martin informing you about the next firefight somewhere on the map... Maybe i'm wrong, Maybe when i've played and finished them all... i'll post again General Martin out. Kamakazi
So played some firefight on a couple of the new maps (Caves, RR Bridge, and Battlefield to be precise) and wow is all I can say. Amazing redoing of the maps. Haven't tried the coop yet, hope to get some of that in tonight probably after about 9 CST, so if anybody wants in GT is Kamakazi010654

They even put diamonds on certain enemies that you can't toggle off. The new maps are great, and the new missions are fun enough, but they could have been so much better. Who ever designed this at RSE should be working for a car company designing navigation systems, NOT games. o RATMAN o
Has anyone else noticed that they seem to off adjusted weapon accuracy/power over long distance. Previously I could take my 468SD, put it on single shot and normally get the kill in 1 or 2 shots at long range. Now it takes a few more and not everyone hits. At first I thought it was just me being rusty but someone else mentioned it in a room. LOL @ Ghostrecon for dummies, these missions seem loads easier than the orignals (Railroad, Battlefield etc) and easier than some of the GRAW 2 missions (and whats with the missing cave or the thunderous airsupport at the begining of battlefield??). AI seems to of gone dumber in places, you can almost walk up on some AI before they even move... To me this shows how the series has gone backwards, the first time I played the original Railroad I almost pulled my hair out, this one seems like a Lite version. Maybe thats how we should refer to GRAW (GhostreconLITE). On a plus side the graphics have obviously been tweeked and are looking very pretty, now what we need to do as a community is play the hell out of the bigger maps before they get it into their heads that we all like headquaters size maps. Ignoring the items already mentioned like base locations, camo too light and bright, not so AI etc I personally think the content was worth the 800 points (Maybe even 1200). If they take a few more pointers from the fans the next game in the series could be something really special.

And you call yourself a diehard... Haha never claimed to be a diehard. At least not since I got married I didn't know about it until 2 nights ago when a Live buddy messaged me. I got to squeeze in about an hour of playing it last night. Very cool stuff.

I am and have been a supporter and a big fan of the series from the very start but this game has now reached its limit....forget the weak and repetitive objectives, forget the ridiculous AI, forget the constant video interruptions from Martin....you can even forget the cartoon color schemes.......BUT FOR CHRIST SAKE, DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE FRAME RATE..!!!!! Choppy graphics, bullet Lag and the worst character movements in a video game I have ever seen......has anyone else noticed the cross hairs jumping all over the screen? Trust me, I'm not a big 1st person shooter fan but Call of Duty 4 has raised the bar as far as overall gaming fidelity goes, 60 frames per second smooth as butter game play......nothing else comes close. I hope the next installment of this series can do something to restore some credibility to this great gaming franchise.....!!! Frustrated GR fan. the.ronin
Is it just me or are these soldados on steroids? It's like I've come up against the elite land speed record crawling brigade. Being too impatient for friends to join up, I did manage to complete Caves all by my lonesome - all objectives, no respawn, no indicators. Good times. doubletap
The whole reason MS made their own point system instead of just using currency for MP transactions was to avoid exchange rate problems. No. It's not the reason. That's the "reason" they stated. The real reason is to apply a simple yet brilliant method of acquiring more money for the same product. In most cases you have to buy more credits than needed for a download. A simple minded person still considers those extra "points" leftover to be his/her money. However it is no longer in your hands, it is instead being used by MS to make even more money, the same way banks and insurance companies do. Multiply those few extra hundred points by millions of xblive customers, and you see the genius of it all. Lesson over.
