check6 0 Posted May 7, 2003 Share Posted May 7, 2003 i was wondering, if newer games like GR, Ravenshield BHD ...etc. are supporting open GL? I thought open GL is an old technology which was mainly developed for 3dfx boards. But i recognized, that my radeon 9000 also supports open GL in the system properties ? RooK 0 Posted May 7, 2003 Share Posted May 7, 2003 OpenGL is still in use by a lot of games. IL2 is one that lets you select DX or OpenGL. It doesn't have some of the shading effects DX does, but it usually makes the game run much faster. Last I heard they were also trying to get OpenGL 2.0 up and running to release for game designers. MS sorta has a lockhold on gaming atm with their DX software and having a hand in OpenGL 2.0, delaying it Quote Link to post Share on other sites
