rookie Posted January 23, 2008 Share Posted January 23, 2008 So I wanted to give my PC a little upgrade before buying a new PC in 2 years. I have an AGP-board and want the XFX 7950GT. In all the german-hardware-stores it is sold out or available on ebay for 200+ Euros. Since I do not know my way around foreign hardware-shops I was looking for help in finding a) a shop still selling it b) delivering to germany and c) don't cross the 200Euro-line. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am not looking for that "Buy PCI-E..AGP is dead"-speech. I am only looking for a little hand in finding good foreign stores - I am willing to pay for an upgrade atm, but not a new PC. Good Luck Thanks for the advice, I found that card quite often in shops and heard you can overclock it to 7950GT-level. But I am not too sure about it, so I guess I will take the 7900GS+ from Gainward with the 510Mhz-GPU-clock. Because my search over the past weeks for the 7950GT has not been succesfull. rookie Posted February 3, 2008 Author Share Posted February 3, 2008 So I ended up buying the XFX 7900GS, after these 2 shops bounced me back as well. I didn't reformat, just uninstalled the old Card and all related drivers before putting in my new one. All games run much better with a huge increase on performance(Armed Assault, Company of Heroes, Test Drive Unlimited, NFS Most Wanted)...except for CoD4 which runs worse now. No idea why. I installed older drivers and re-installed DirectX 9.0c. I don't know what else to do, no matter what resolution and what settings, FPS stay crap on CoD4. Any advice is appreciated... Reformating is no option for me, since I simply do not have the time formating and installing everything again just for this one game.
