mark2000
well two, actually. could someone tell me which files inside the origmiss folder are used for the OPFOR weapons(mainly the ones with the accuracy/muzzle-flash/zoom configuration stuff inside)? I have a pretty wild guess that they're all .GUN files but I'd rather know the facts from you guys personally than depend on my clueless guesses. and do the OPFOR and the ghost team share the same gun files for their weapons? It's because I'm planning on tinkering with the accuracy of the OPFOR weapons exclusively. any help would be nice
doubletap
Any .gun file with the name of an enemy weapon, for example ak47.gun, is what you want to edit. <Recoil> <RunStandAccuracy> <RunCrouchAccuracy> <RunProneAccuracy> <WalkStandAccuracy> <WalkCrouchAccuracy> <WalkProneAccuracy> <ShuffleStandAccuracy> <ShuffleCrouchAccuracy> <ShuffleProneAccuracy> <StationaryStandAccuracy> <StationaryCrouchAccuracy> <StabilizationTime> Increase any/all the above for lower accuracy. do the OPFOR and the ghost team share the same gun files for their weapons? Different files, as evident simply by the file name, i.e. m16.gun vs ak47.gun. Edited January 22, 2008 by doubletap
mark2000
Different files, as evident simply by the file name, i.e. m16.gun vs ak47.gun does that mean that they never use any gun that are included in the original kits?

doubletap
As for weapon performance, the kits have nothing to do with that directly. The .kit files don't contain weapon data and specs. The .gun files listed in the kit files are what actually contain all the weapon stats. Notice the kit file merely references a particular .gun file..... <ItemFileName>ak47.gun</ItemFileName> So, the ak47.gun is where you'll find that weapon's details. do the OPFOR and the ghost team share the same gun files for their weapons? I may have misundersyood your question earlier. No they don't share the same .gun files, but only because opfor and ghosts don't use the same guns. Each gun has it's own .gun file; it's not like one file controls several guns. Edited January 23, 2008 by doubletap
mark2000
this may sound pretty obvious already but just to be sure, are all the .kit files that are located on the equip folder belong to the opfor? (I'm talking about the origmiss folder btw)
doubletap
are all the .kit files that are located on the equip folder belong to the opfor? All but a few. I see there's an M16 only.kit and a binocular.kit, those aren't opfor. I'm not sure what those are for, probably used by a.i. friendlies like regular army, marines, etc, but the ghosts have their own kits in the kits folder. I think I can start doing this properly now.
