I can't edit .dds files with psp7 though.

Yes you can, with the .dds plugin.

I've tried and tried, I'm just tired of messing with it. I'll be getting the latest PSP X2 soon. I don't want to hijack the thread so I won't go into details.

It's odd, the .dds plugin has always worked for me. X2 is the way forward - which is why I use it

How I did it was I downloaded a .dds converter, and I edit them as .jpg. The only thing is that you need to remember to keep the dimensions a power of two (e.g 1024 x 1024). Then convert them back to .dds

Cheers, Archer

How do you edit files that have alpha channels? You can't save to jpg or bmp and retain alpha channels can you? I have thought about using a converter but I didn't know how I would resave files back to dds with alpha.

Edit: ok, I see now that the camo swatches have no alpha.

I could swear I had it working with the PS plugin, then I installed an rsb plugin for GR1, and now I get errors when I try .dds.

Frustrating.

You got the plugin in the correct folder?

One thing with X2 is that the folder structure is completely different to that of other versions (the folders are named differently too). Took me ages trying to find the plugin folder.

Well, if anyone wants something that the rather comprehensive pack from WytchDokta doesn't cover, let me know.

Already covered..... v3 is on the way and will be out soon. Although it is alot of work and will take me some time, unless I can get some help in here [/hint]

How long did they take me? A couple of months atleast, don't remember how long for sure. The method I use for my texture application takes longer than the one everone else uses - I paint the textures onto the wrinkles by hand, rotation sections of it by hand for pockets etc (whereas everyone else just block pastes the whole wrinkle set with the camo therefore it doesn't look as realistic) I'm also working on some cotton/ripstop bump map overlays.

That's good stuff! thank you for your work fellas.

It's never too soon to put out a GRAW 3 camo set . . . . . click

Sure, if you want that 'camo' from that pic, I'll make it. :) I'm already making a tetris 'camo' pattern as a request from a fellow forum member. Shortly after, a request for a 'camo' pattern texture consisting of a semaless pattern of US dollar notes was sent (what they 'want that 'camo' for is beyond me). Both are in the works.

Hint taken.

What would have me do?

PM me, Or give me an email, I'm happy to help

Archer.

Already there. Glad to have you aboard. You are now officially a member of the Okkult and your soul is forever bound to the Darkside. :P

In other words, the rest of you guys/girls should keep an ever watchful eye for some collaboration texture work between Archer and master of the Darkside, WytchDokta

  • 4 weeks later...

How limiting is skinning for graw2? Are we limited to just altering the base color? I wonder how closely they could be made to look like Delta? There's a nice set someone did for graw1 that gives them solid black vests, and with the right camo they look pretty darn close to delta. Close enough to let your imagination fill in the blanks.
