Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I was taught that the version number of a game was an indication of how much content has changed. For example, any version < 1.0 is a beta, 1.0 is always the initial release, and any version above that depends on how much content has changed. So version 2.0 would be a complete overhaul.

If I am correct, then GRAW 1 was patched to version 1.35, which would imply that a lot of content was changed or added (which is true: new gametypes, maps, etc). However, the GRAW 2 test server is still only 1.05, which would imply that the changes are more like tweaks than substantive content.

According to the server info on the "TEST01 London" server:

There are 3 new maps, industry, dominion and retrieve. The retrieve map appears to be for coop only. The old sierra coop map is no longer exclusively just for coop.

So in effect dm, tdm, hh and rvsa players should have 3 ‘new’ maps to play on and coop players will have 1 new map to play on.

This is good news. I hope it can breath some more life into this game.

I doubt it very much - too little, too late unfortunately.

No doubt we'll dl the patch when it comes, check the new content, then go back to playing CoD4, Crysis & UT3. :D

Patch 1.05 is a good start. GRAW2 PC has already sold 600,000 units. Therefore there is a very good chance much more content will be added to this game in the future.

This is the beginning of GRAW2 not the end.

I have no expectations for this patch other than autodownload. If that is not in there, you can pretty much say it's done for alot of people and teams. That single feature alone can make playing distributing custom content that much easier and possibly extend the life of the game for little longer.

Otherwise, how much of an impact will 2 or so maps make? Not much really.

If they have made other changes that are positive, I'll be pleasantly surprised. Particularly if they have a positive impact on the number of people playing the game.

I think 1.0 IS the release. then minor patches go like 1.01,1.02,1.03

the major patches go like 1.1,1.2... 1.5 etc. then complete over hauls go liek like;

1.0, 2.0, 3.0 ... and so on.

Version numbers are handled different for each game, there are no standard. Some companies only update the first decimal for an expansion pack and the overall version number for a sequel. Some release the first version as 1.18.1.0 or something... so just looking at a version number for any game won't tell you anything else then exactly which version it is, not how much has been added or how many patches there has been.

Crossing my fingers and connecting to GRAW 2 ...

Looking at how many people are playing this game at the moment it might be a bit late. Less then 200 people world wide doesn’t give me much hope for GRAW2.

But I will be keeping my finger crossed

I have already traded in GRAW2 for newer games - so if GRIN/UBI releases a big patch now adding new content but didnt bother to tell us about it before we moved on - then this patch just ###### me off quite frankly.

even less reason to purchase anything from these unreliable organisations.

think im upset? of course i am - how hard would it have been to say - guess what there will be another patch with new content, instead of silence.

dikheads..enjoy your 80 bucks..its the last cent you'll ever get from me.

I would guess that at least half of the people who has GRAW2 are not MP players though, so you wouldn't see them online anyhow.

GRAW2 was bundled with Dell laptops for example.

I think that, If COOP were better supported, meaning more maps in SP and MP mode and if the maps were open, this means that any objective can be completed in any order but the mission can STILL be accomplished, THAT would definately turn things around for the COOP guys like myself. run our butt saround the map a bit.

1. run us to the north side of the map to deactivate a demolition charge

2. run us way down south to capture and escort shakashvili around(this would've required teamwork to keep him alive)

3. then run us up the west or east to aquire a vehicle to escape to end the mission

then make the missions or COOP use a programming loop and loop until ALL objectives are complete. and the game keeps track of objectives complete. THAT's COOP!

Does anyone know the cylinder head mounting face distortion tolerance for a 1988 Porsche 944 Turbo S...I'm rebuilding the engine over the winter.
