Why is AGR-S.com down?

Recommended Posts

Here's why AGR-S.com is down.

Serv2017Has been attacked by spammers. We have powered the server down to protect the network and server data. An engineer has been despatched who will investigate locally without connecting the server to the network and internet. All client data appears to be intact and no long term interuptions are anticipated. However there may be a period of downtime today whilst we analyse logs and server integrity to ensure the source of the spam was not this server. Currently it appears as though a domain hosted on this server was used although not involved in a huge spam shot, This was done without the owners permission but the bounces are overloading the server. We have managed to get the senders ISP to close the account but now need to check the server for residual damage and ensure that the spammer has not gained access to the server before re-enabling it.

We apologise to any clients affected by this incident and hope that you will accept our reassurances that everything is being done to restore services as a matter of priority.

Someone put me in a room with a spammer. Please.

The only thing I could think of was a DOS attack too. But they would be stupid to allow pinging. Heck if I ever own my own company and have any servers I wont allow any pinging. MS had it right. He/She may have gotten something else in though I dunno. Companies never tell you the whole truth.

*Goes back to modding "Hacker Hunt!"*

Shameless plug, I know... but this is why I'm making it to begin with! :hehe:

I hope to be up and running soon. It'd be nice to finally get to psot some news...

Rocky doesn't own a server.
But the idiots that control it could have done it. I think they're dumb if they were brought down by a DOS attack. Its not excusable anymore. Edited by Stinger
