ReapeR eXe
yay, new maps...... warms up the trigger finger.. stretch bend....stretch... They can bring out all the new maps they like BUT until the frame rate improves, this game will be in the shadow of Call of Duty 4.....!!!! You're right....especially if you like being able to shoot while falling 3 stories out of a building and NOT dying, no mention of the use of any kind of tactics, having to deal with immature idiots so much that you feel like you're back in the fourth grade....yeah. You're 100% correct! lol.......My point is that GR needs a significant overhaul in the engine department to compete with such titles like COD4.....cool your jets....I love GR as much as the next guy but please do not tar all COD gamers with the same immature brush. If you played COD4 (beta) and played the Search and Destroy game mode (no respawns) then you would know that this game has some serious potential. I am not bashing GR's game play just its frame rate issues.
Alderei
For those of you who have played Ghost Recon 1 & the new throwback map packs, how do the maps look/play on the 360 in comparison? I'm trying to think...the only map from [GR] ported in as a throwback to GRAW2 is Embassy, I think. All the others (from throwback 1 and 2) are GR2, Summit Strike, and GRAW maps. Someone will speak up if I'm wrong on that. Here's the deal: Its good, but you can't get in the buidlings, which is the way they did the map for the xbox version too. The lighting is different. If I remember correctly, the original map felt like morning, whereas the new GRAW2 version feels like high noon. Lots of sun. They also rebuilt the "bank" and the initial spawn area, which is kind of confusing. Still, with the alleyways and the garage, and access to the embassy roof, it plays pretty well. I'm really looking forward to the new pack...I'm anxious to see the Railroad Bridge and how they work out the missions. None of the GRAW Co-Ops to date have used tanks, so RR Bridge will behave a bit differently. If the question is, "Do I buy an Xbox360 just so I can play GRAW2?" I think the answer has to be, how much money is $500? Unfair to answer a question with a question, but its the truth. monkey13
Another Devs vs Fans night would be great. Yeah, we'll definately be organizing another Devs vs Fans night. I think everyone will be pretty impressed with the new map selection and the coop maps. -m13 RSE Dev Edited October 19, 2007 by monkey13

Baby, my jets are sub-zero.....I tried really hard to find the part of my post where I used a sweeping generalization to describe ALL COD4 players.....help me out yo! Look...COD4 is pretty. I'll give you that. But that is exactly what is going to bring that certain element to online games ("Hey that game looks purdy purdy!"). I'll give that game a shot, but I have a feeling I'll come right back to GRAW2....or AA True Soldiers for that matter....

beonder13
I played the COD4 beta and IMO it is Halo with 21st century weapons. It is fun, but it is strictly run and gun. I'm with Max419. I've been having fun on H3 but always go back to GR. This map pack will breath new life into the game. And I'm eagerly awaiting a demo for AA. GR would be my game of choice also, but lets face it the slow frame rate and choppy graphics are a little behind these new titles. I'm a big big fan of Ghost Recon, and have played it on Xbox since GR and GRIT. I think GRAW has gotten away from the "better" formula. I like the GRAW series, but prefer the "feel" of GR and GRIT. Seeing the new "old" maps is wonderful. On to the COD4, I'm more hyped about this game than any game coming out this year. The Beta was all I played, while it was available. Team Deathmatch... yeah same old run and gun like Halo3 or any other twitch fest shooters on Xbox360. Search and Destroy, no respawns is where its at. The rounds were only 5 mins, but they seemed much longer. This game blew me away. I wasn't expecting much, after being heavily dissappointed in COD2 and COD3's multiplayer. If you think the COD4's multiplayer will be like COD2 or COD3's you are sorely mistaken. The lobbies are very functional now, and it plays online, as smooth as butter. No Respawns... yep COD4 is going to rock!

COD4 Modern Warfare is gonna be the biggest and best game out on xbox 360 this and probably next year..!! The new Hardcore mode (no respawns, no health regeneration, no HUD, increased bullet damage).....its gonna rock..!!! I just hope that the GR series can get back on track and get back to what made this series great...tactical game play...!!!
Becky89
there is a mode in COD4 that wasn't in the BETA where u can basically play it like Ghost Recon with a 2 hit kill i think, its realistic mode. fantastic game, i love it more than GRAW2, would be awesome if Ghost Recon became like COD4 in the graphics department. And if it went back to FPS like COD4, but i guess our true Ghost Recon sequel is the America's Army game coming out on the 360.

That is what I've been hearing and eagerly awaiting. Demo should be out soon. BTW, I did play S&D on the beta and it still fealt like Halo to me. It could have been because of the players in the room, but with the perks and airstrikes, and jumping... sorry, I'll play Halo when I want this type of gameplay. Here's to hoping that AA does it right and GR goes back to its roots. Edited October 29, 2007 by beonder13
Deadpreacher
I'm still wondering if i should get the new map pack. Guess it depends on how much it is like over 400 points? I may pass becuase there is just to much coming out and fast that i know i will be playing over GRAW2. Yet with Caves and Battlefield in there it makes it tough to not get it. AA is the game im looking forward too must right now! COD4 is ok and is fun, but its still to fast for my taste. I may still buy COD4 yet once AA comes around COD4 is only getting played when there is noone else on AA at the moment in time. If UBI makes another GR all i ask is at least make a FPWV like in AA or i may slowly stop supporting and playing GR in the future like im haven trouble doing now when i have better games to choose from! I would like to see a mix of AA and [OFP: DR] (Like world size & Gun realizme) combined to make a new GR game or at least more like AA is tring to be! GRAW single player at least gave the idea that the maps where huge and forever going with the load times. It would be nice to see the maps become one world and you have to travel to each sector. Rather it be by foot or being picked up by Jeep or Heli.
Kurtz
The reason GRAW and R6 have it all over COD 4 is the coop, best tactical coop on the 360. Play Wartown on R6 with 70 enemies and realistic damage, best coop action I have played. I am still getting COD 4 for the SP and to play TvT with friends, I just prefer the tactical coop of GRAW and R6.
