Graw 2 is slowly dieing

Recommended Posts

A lot of you only look at GRAW2 from the MP point of view and thus assume that GRAW2 is dead. While it may not be very popular, assuming that no one is playing it as they are not online is rediculous. There are people playing just the SP portion of the game and having fun and there could quite possibly be more that we don't know about.

All of you who keep insisting that GRAW2 is dead keep sticking your foot in your mouth as you do not know how many people are still playing in any mode. Even I don't know how many people are playing GRAW2.

Actually White, I think the only people playing SP are new buyers of the game. Once you play thru the Campaign, you're probably done with GRAW2. MP at least introduces the unknown of facing non-AI players. For me I've beaten SP to death so often and in so many different ways that I never play it. The sad part is that it only took me about a month to reach saturation point with SP. Weak in-box content and nothing else coming from the looks of it. I've always said that the game itself (engine, etc) is NOT bad... the amount of content (SP or MP) is simply an embarrassment in my opinion.

It seems to me the only people saying GRAW2 is dead are the ones who aren't interested in playing it, as there are servers up, (as people have shown) with more than enough people playing to get a good game. So there are plenty of people enjoying GRAW every night, while the rest of you moan about it being dead.

Well i feel the game is dead or close to dead and i still put in some hours every day lacking anything better to do ^^

That's my point, how can you say it is dead when you are still playing? If there were no servers and no online players, and you therefore could not find a game, that is when the game is dead (for MP), until then, I really don't see that argument at all.

The game is dead when there is no official suport and the playerbase is so low that you know most if not every player playing online and the stream of new players is close to 0. GRAW2 is a good game that deservs better then the treatment UBI have given it, but the fact remain that the games is lost.

Games dont die people do, if a game made in the last couple of years is still being played 6 months later then a developer is happy.

If the original post was to say it is dead or dying it would be wrong, as has been said people still playing it so no its not dead.

Its dead when no one else buys it, plays it, or has servers for it.

This has not happened.

Participation has slowed no more.

I expect it will slow down even more next month, but it still wont be dead. :P

That's a kind of wierd defination of dead IMO.

Firstly, GRAW2 still has official support. So by your own criteria, it is not dead.

The other point about knowing every other player online, someone quoted 250+ players a night earlier in the thread, if you know all them you make me feel like norman no mates.

I don't mean to come across argumentative, I'm just not buying this "dead" business at all.

If this website was getting a few hundred hits every day instead of the many thousand it gets every day, I might be more inclined to agree, fact is, we are as busy as ever therefore interest remains high, and if anyone is looking for an online server to play against 20 odd strangers (or even people they know  ), they can do that too.

Dead? Nah. On life support, maybe

Those people hanging around here are probably waiting in the hope that news of a patch will be announced.

If I had to pick one thing that hints at the reason why this game has died so fast it would be this:

NO Real game lobby!

Thats it in my opinion.

I cannot see who is online, can't tell if they are people I have played with from [GR], can't see the familiar names of cheaters that abound in this game, so I could STAY OUT of those servers.

Simply, the inclusion of a feature like we had with ASE would go a long way to making this game work online.

As it is, you have to wait SO LONG to get into a server, only to have it wrecked by some cheat, either hacking the game with unlimited GL and speed hack or simply TKing until they are kicked.

I've done enough bashing on this game but, it doesn't have lasting appeal. Like ordering fast food. quick enjoyable but not long lasting.

the only reason I have a windows partition is for gaming. I like linux too. I'm in a limbo. wish the gaming companies would develop forlinux, but with Microsoft partnering with linux companies, who knows? might see GR on linux with DX for linux too.

but GRAW2 is dead in the term of little activity of modding. modding of the wildness of GR1.

it seemed like rocky spent hours posting new news EVERYDAY, about a new GR1 skin pack or mappack or new map, retextured maps, etc.

..SIGH...I miss the old days. :(

See, there's a big difference between mostly dead, and all dead. Now, mostly dead: he's slightly alive. All dead, well, with all dead, there's usually only one thing that you can do.

What's that?

Go through his clothes and look for loose change.

The game is in the E.R. :-)

If we unplugged the machine then it will die :-(

Our love keep it to life,Castle map(thx Biro),with some Coop missions for Rpg,and other mates(thx all).

Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 is coming for me,i will continue play online, but luck of support discourage me.My hope is Modders

the lack of VOIP built in doomed it from teh start IMO.

I like Ventrilo and TeamSpeak. They work just fine and they let you choose who you're on comms with.

Personally, it would not be a whole lot of fun to be stuck in a channel with a bunch of ignorant 10 year olds or even 30+ year olds who act like they're 10.

By the way... is there a patch coming or what?

SCE, Gr.net and AFZ gave it another shock that may make the clans last a few more months with the tournament.

I un-installed my GRAW2. I figured I can better use the 5GB of harddrive space for music at what not.

:clapping: Now that it's off you system and your DL music and whatnot you can on thier forums and bash them.

Man to think we really care that you removed this game from your system.. like it's some kind of world altering event..

'Yes this is a vent' Some of us still enjoy the game .. we play it with friends and have fun doing it. This topic is old...

well, Irishstout. guess you told me good huh? what's the sense of me keeping said game on my harddrive when it gets used so little?

the support is probably the best reason I can see around here for the low profile of GRAW2.

quit acting like you're in kindergarten Irish. geez. <_<

About the same point in you hanging around the GRAW forums - nil. You're a buddy and everything Papa, but if you have finished with the game, you really do need to move on out of the forums where people are still playing it and enjoying it. Or, at least, stop raining on their parade.

Papa... there are other forums here you can enjoy... feel free to move to them... like COD or something...

beside that in GRAW1 ... didn't you say you microwaved your dvd or cd for GRAW and a week later start posting in the mod forums new maps? Send us as Youtube of you removing it or we won't believe it ;)

Blueberry

We still can fill our server everynight :D so there is at least 24 players... and srt usually has 24, XE has 26, BDA usuallsy in the 20's.

I would say at least 200 or so at any given time :P

And now we have a tournament ;)

I think this thread has run it's course. There are still people playing GRAW2 and there are those who have stopped. With that revelation (not really a revelation, but you get the idea), there is no longer a need to post in this thread.

If you have uninstalled GRAW2, that is up to you, there is no need to keep telling people that this game is on life support. We have plenty of other forums around here for you to post in and participate in. It's time to stop telling those who still play that this game is dead.
