fishman 0
Hiya! I am a touch new to all this so forgive me.... I have downloaded a few mods - the dam and assasination mission. I unzipped them into a temp folder then copied that folder into the mods directory on my pc - for example into... D:\Program Files\Red Storm Entertainment\Ghost Recon\Mods and then gave them their own folder. When I go back into GR - using GR disk then go into options then mods, they dont appear for me to activate. Why? Oh why? I have installed GR, DR, IT and recently installed patch 1.4 thinking that might help. When I unzipped them, the patch was 1.3.5. I am running win XP. I noticed to that the title screen (main menu) says IT when I start the game even with GR disk in. Any ideas lads?
supasniper 0
don't give them their own folder just put them in the mods folder as they are when you unzip them i think this will do it
Pave Low 16
The assasination mission if it is the one by X69RZX The .mis file "g08_assassination.mis" needs to be put in the mission folder of MP1. As it is only a mission file (not a mod) you wont see it listed in the mods list just look under quick missions and it should be there. As for the Dam mod; Find the file "modscont.txt" (for the Dam mod) the folder that this file sits in is the actual mod folder, nothing higher. Just move this folder to the GR mods folder so the path of the modscont.txt file should look like this: D:\Program Files\Red Storm Entertainment\Ghost Recon\Mods\[The Dam]\ modscont.txt The you should see the "The Dam" listed in the mods list
fishman 0
I could kiss you!! Thanks Pave Low!! So I am assuming that all I have to do is finds a file named or similar to modscont.txt and make it the highest file in the mod? Correct me if I am wrong!
Pave Low 16
So I am assuming that all I have to do is finds a file named or similar to modscont.txt and make it the highest file in the mod? Nearly, just don't move the file (or folders at this level) but the folder that they sit in. and this folder should be the first one you see when you open the the GR Mods folder. The "index" file will always be named "modscont.txt". So to recap you should have; ~Ghost Recon\Mods\ Then the "mod" folder - which should contain some or all of the following folders/files; Actor Character equip kits Mission model Shell sound textures modscont.txt Readme.txt there should only be one folder level between "~Ghost Recon\Mods\" and the above folders/files Some times mods will unzip with two or more levels of folders, but you only want to move the one immediately above the folders/files quoted above. and some mods won't include the route folder, just the above files/folders so you will then have to create it for the mod to sit in thats why its always a good idea to extract to a temp folder so that you can correct any problems. look at the MP1 and MP2 folder structure for a template on how it should be.
