WytchDokta 6
It seems that the company that supplied my new rig etc supplied an OEM 8800 with no drivers disk. I've got drivers disk for the mob & sound card, but can't find the one for the graphics card. Is it possible to download the drivers stright of the internet without using the drivers disk (which I don't seem to have)? Or is the installation disk needed because it installs other files (that the driver updates off the net don't install)? ###### thing! That's twice I've cut myself while installing/uninstalling new hardware into the new tower system!
Pave Low 16
of course and you would want to go to the Nvidia site and grab the latest drivers anyway, even if you had a disk http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/winxp_163.71_uk.html
WytchDokta 6
of course and you would want to got to the Nvidia site and grab the latest drivers anyway, even if you had a disk http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/winxp_163.71_uk.html Figure I'll download them on this rig, save them to my USB stick and transfer them across to the new rig so I don't have to view the net on the new rig at 640x480 horribleness. Just installed the new PSU, the old one was a ###### to get out, I pulled the old PSU leads out of the mobo, but don't remember which ones went were. I'll have to read the manual on the new one and find out. Putting this thing together on my desktop - with old rig, I used to put it on the carpet whenever I modded it, no wonder it died. Using an antistatic band where I can too when installing the stuff in the new tower (although I often connect it on the hand I'm not working with because it gets in the way. I have been using the old touching the outside of the case with my hands trick too, to help earth myself. Now I have two cuts on my hands where she's fought back when I've been poking about inside her The ###### bites I tell thee! Now just to put in a new fan, attach the clear side panel (with 23cm fan) to the case, and plug it all in. I think I'll get my bro to switch it on for the first time, so when he flicks the switch I can shout 'BANG!' very loud. It's a good trick to play on some-one, every time you do it they jump like hell even the most fearless of people. Edited October 6, 2007 by WytchDokta
