WytchDokta 6
I'm looking at upgrading to this OS when I get the new rig. I've heard a few people have had problems with this OS, but it seems to be because there aren't any 64 bit XP drivers for their hardware. Is there any way I can find out if there are any 64 bit XP drivers for my new processor & mobo before I receive the new rig? I say this because I don't know the precise mobo model number yet, but I do know what the processor model is. Also, what's compatibility with 32 programs like? Anything else I should know? CR6 0
What you need to know is do NOT get XP x64. If you want a 64-bit OS, get Vista Ultimate 64-bit. It appears Microsoft is throwing more manpower at getting Vista 64-bit drivers than for XP. Skim this forum for a few other threads on this issue If you have an Intel CPU/mobo chipset, Intel does have 64-bit drivers on their website, so that's not an issue. The issue will be with your old printer, webcam, etc.
