need a graffiti font for menu screen

Recommended Posts

Speaking of menu screens, does anyone know where the screen is stored that is displayed when you first run Ghost Recon? The black background with just

Tom Clancy's

Ghost Recon

on it?

I could find all the main menu screens but not this one. I checked the CD, i even checked the resources within the ghostrecon.exe file and the autorun file on the CD.

This seemed like a good topic to ask this, instead of making a new one. I hope it does not seem like I'm trying to steal your topic, just trying to save space.

Thank you. It certainly seems like a well designed and informative site.

This is the screen in question BTW.

Since it's displayed before you get into the game, there's no guarentee that it's in RSB format which is making the search that much harder. But I always have a habbit of changing the load screen for EVERY game I can, so Mr. DefaultScreen's days are numbered.

If you mean the one on a circular background

it is "load_icon.rsb" found in "Ghost Recon\data\shell\art\"

I think you see this screen if you only have GR, as DS & IT have their own ones (for these, look at the files in the "shell\art\" folders of MP1 or MP2).

The IT one has the chopper flying over the sea

:)

@PJ,

It's on the CD. More than likely the green GR one. I believe it's called setup.bmp or something to that effect. But IIRC it is on the CD. Each CD varies on the image though.

The only bmp on the CD is autoplay.bmp which is the launcher program graphic.

I think I'm just going to focus on the menu graphics. When they made this, for some reason they sure didn't want this graphic to be found. Can't even find it INSIDE the various DLLs and EXEs. I think editing those would be against the EULA anyway (whereas I assume, since they released modding tools, it's all OK when it comes to the other graphics. Or else there wouldn't be any mods.)

The game loads rather quickly anyhow so I'll be spending more time at the menu. Plus it gives me five design alternate freedom per mod.
