GeForce 2MX & Ghost Recon

Recommended Posts

Hi,

due to a hardware upgrade i was forced to install the latest drivers for my geforce 2 MX (32 Meg's). Unfortunately Ghost recon don't like the newer drivers of nvidia as far as i experienced. Using drivers above 6.XX causes permant flashes during the gameplay. On these flashes the textures are not at all drawn or wrong drawn.

Has anybody some hint's for me to solve this problem without downgrading the drivers (besides the solution of upgrading the card  )

greetings

P.S. My PC: 1800 AMD, 650 Meg's RAM, Elitegroup K7.whatsoever

Why can't you use older drivers? If you're using a GeForce2, you shouldn't be using anything above 28.xx or so. The ideal drivers for the GeForce2MX are the 21.83 drivers.

Hi Parabellum,

thanx for your reply. When i first installed my GeForce 6 months ago i had faced the problems i already described with the 40.XX drivers. In order to solve that problem i tried a bunch of older drivers. All drivers above 6.XX did not solve the problem. With the 6.XX GR finally worked fine.

I upgraded the driver because i bought glasses of edimensional and these glasses require a feature that is "stereovision". As far as i know this feature is not supported by the 6.XX driver.

Ok, so you don't want to upgrade the GFX card.....ok, my opinion is to upgrade your video card! Seriously, your system is fine, except for the GFX card bottleneck.

If you don't want to spend alot of money look at a GeForce4 MX for around $52US, or GeForce3 Ti200 for around $100US

A cheap ATI solution would be the Radeon 7500 around $60US or Radeon 8500LE for around $80US.

hmmm seems to be the best solution. But what would be best choice: ATI or Nvidia?

On the one hand I'm not too happy with my geforce mx - on the other hand ATI Cards are not very popular in the gaming community.

Anyway i think i've got to spend again some cash for my pc this weekend. :P

Thanks for advice
