new BUG? Suicide hh_fort on stairsways

After patch 1.03, on my server ppl started dying from "suicide" when being on stairs on hh_fort (dunno if it applies to other fort gametypes)

ppl having trouble join and being kicked for "altered gamefiles" more often it seems also....

If they have anything in their local folder, they most likely will.

That would be fall damage then? Don't think that has been altered in any way...

hmm.. just happened to a dude standing on ground in coop_quarry too...

My server the only one this happens on?

How is his ping? Is it stable?

pings seems to be going crazy ( warries from 50 - > 6-800 / were 6 players all usually ping below 100 - And i have 1mb upload) didn´t have these problems before patch.

If u mean server stable, by not chrashing.. it doesnt.. just player problems

Then I think the suicide is actually a ping drop. I can't say for sure as it's way out of my area, but it's my guess.

Change your network settings from 3000 to 2000. It relates also the amount of physics handled server sided. This has fixed many servers especially co-op. edit it in your dedicated_info.xml.

actually i had internetsetting at 1200 when it started.. then tryed 1800 and even 3000.. all same result.. ppl randomly suicide now...

think i need try a reinstall if it only hapens here.. as far as i can tell my internet connection is ok

I would rule out the stairs on Fort at least, or any other map error, so it's out of my territory. I'll pass it on tomorrow.

well.. if its only my server that seem to do it, it must be local..

I´ll try figure out what´s causing it.. (high ping, bad internet connection.. etc. etc.)

One more question. When they suicide, they stay on the server, right? Or do they get disconnected as well? Just to make things clear.

I dunno what's up, but I was playing on =XE='s server (which, no offense XE, is crap full of lag) but the first two grenades I threw never detonated, then approximately 10 seconds later I heard a *BOOM* and I was charged with a suicide. In one instance I had a team mate standing beside me and he got killed by my grenade that apparently never truly left my hand. Ever since those first two though, I have not been able to duplicate it. Both were on Fort within proximity to the Northern stairways. Both times my grenades were being thrown on the stairs.

No they did not bounce back and I was nowhere near them when they were supposed to detonate. Like I said, there was no explosion until about 10 seconds later when I would blow up as if the grenade was still in my hand.

They stayed on server....

Removed Firedaemon whitch kept server running and that seemed to do the trick, either that or my internet-connection must have been bad for a while.. even tho it measured fine up/down load?

Anyways.. everything seems to be just fine now, and if it happens again i´ll make sure to check every thing i can think off before posting about it again. :blush:

hmm.. happened twice again today .. this time TDM_the cut, different players both with pings below 150

Could it be some sort of timeout causing it.. maybe lost packets?

I´ve noticed that when players joins the game, ping goes up around 4-500 for all players.. then settles back to 50-150 (some players have higher pings, but believe thats because they join from far (Server Located in Denmark)

We were 10 players on the server when it happened.

I´d really like to know how many it should be able to host with a 10/1 MB -down/up connection

Dedicated Server specs:

10/1 MB internet connection

Intel Core 2 Duo E6300

Intel DG965OT motherboard

Onboard Intel GMA X3000

Onboard Intel 82566DC Gigabit Network

2 GB PC-6400DDRII ram

Win XP Pro

Dude...had that happen to me a few times on public servers, usually pretty full ones with infinite spawn. The infamous Yo-Yo nade. I think it is probably some sort of lag spike....you see the nade fly far far away...no explosion..then :hmm: BOOOM!!! :o your dead. Have not had that happen on any server that is running smoothly.

A few nights on the AFZ server my ping pinned out at 999 when I usually get between a 30-70 ping. When I got around that 999 I got the yo-yo nade and also I would unload on someone's head full auto, never see them drop, then approximately 5 seconds later I would hear "Enemy Down". I am sure someone can explain it.

Note the 999 ping was before the 1.03 patch and was found to be do to a DGL 4300 havnig gamefuel enabled. After disabling that problem went away.
